Season of Discovery Class Tuning Incoming - 24 April

Take me atleast 5 seconds to get through the group providing i dont to die, (if i bubble first 5 seconds are all thats left) When bubble goes all 9 others attack me to save there precious shadow priest. Group settings are worse….

Well from horde point of view at least the alliance SPs don’t seem an issue. But is that a SP issue or just horde usually just stomping ally?

If you can stop a bubble rush any way possible, I usually death coil the first ret that tries to mount in, he bubbles to get rid of it but loses seconds on free hitting with bubble enough to stop the rest of the ally to feel safe to push in.

By that time the zugzug the ally backline and gg

Hence why I think SPs aren’t a big deal in big grp fights, enough pressure and they can’t do anything.

People are always fast to draw the “This isnt Classic”-card in terms of abilities, raid size, quality of life changes and similar. Ironically enough they never use this when PvP is the subject.

Remind me when PvP at any point in Vanilla or Classic was “balanced”? It never was. As a player both in 2005 and 2019, PvP balanced was never the case. One shotting classes, endless stuns and swifty macros isn’t something new.

People cry about the lack of balance now. Balance exactly for what content?
The empty BGs nobody plays? The honor system without decay? The STV event thats a zerg fest no matter what class you play? The ganking at Flight Paths or Incursions? You want “balance” to kill low level or 20 man zerg parties?

The PvP scene is a mess, nobody denies that, but that has always been the case. Strange reading posts about how they prio PvE tuning over PvP tuning, this is also nothing new - in pretty much any expansion.

It is about moonkins (spell damage)

Out of touch shadow priest buff. Shadow dots need massive damage nerfs OR a cast time instead. SPs are already running rampant in all types of content. There is no need to buff them just because they are not a No1 parse spec in ST.

Could we get examples of these contents and how at all they are relevant to anything?

I agree that SPriests are crazy in PvP, but there’s no relevant PvP content other than ganks and zergs that reward players in any other way than the personal enjoyment. Arenas arent a thing, RBGs arent a thing (one could argue not even BGs are a thing anymore), most PvP related things are just open-world ganks for laughs and giggles, and both faction can currently create and play Spriests, so apart from the peoples ego - what does this break?

Im suprised people pretend that Blizzard never before has tuned their game around PvE, or that PvE wasn’t the main content of pretty much any phase, when this in fact has been the case since dawn of WoW and especially Classic.

Because tuning around PvE isn’t healthy at all, Blizz literally gave 4 classes a buff that will make the PvP scene even more obnoxious to deal with.
Which just shows how terrible the developers are at actually balancing the game and don’t seem to care and understand howmuch BGs/PvP get screwed over with these changes.
All of these 4 classes are literally meta in PvP, now with said buffs they are basically mandatory to have in BGs/PvP.

Relevant to my own and other’s enjoyment of the game. That should be enough to incite change.

Also, you might have been living under a rock, but a lot of SoD players are doing PvP on the side or are raiding simply to get the best gear for PvP. Which is no surprise, since logging in once a week to raid-log doesn’t satisfy most people.

Managed to play some PvP (on PvE server with no WPVP!!!) in P3 as a rogue.

rogue vs rogue: we are 3 shotting each other. One who dodges an attack or does the first stun wins.

Shamans (in duel), rogue can deal with them without issues.

Melee hunter still dodges and parries all my attacks and hits back harder. If I stun him, pet just kills me, if I get close he distracts, and freezes. Such huge toolbox with almost no cooldowns combined with crazy damage is just… try to vanish? flare. no disengage.

In P2 I was finally able to deal with warriors, now if I see a warr, I just run. Crazy armor, crazy slow from hamstring, crazy long disarm with crazy crits. If I vanish he shouts to reveal, try to run away? Charge. No disengage

Warlock passive AoE random damage is a walking stealth revealer. It’s not possible to approach one from stealth, not possible to sap it in metamorph, absorb all damage by shields and healing, and prevent disengage.

Mage (tried a max AP + highest weapon damage ambush in a duel on my mage friend) with crits never got them below 70% HP and got instantly stunned. He goes away, I catch up, another some kind of disabled. Try to vanish, but you are dotted. The only way to kill the mage is if he is off guard.

Priests are still priests, indestructible beats. Only if caught off guard and without dispersion cooldown it’s doable.

Paladins, 3 rogues decided to gank up on a holy paladin, we were spamming mutilate, and he blocked almost 70% of our attacks! Then we were auto-attacking until having energy, then if he got low, guess what? bubble!

On the bright side! PvE is amazing!

What “scene” is this I ask again? There has never been less initative to play BGs than now and apart from that we have the zerg fest that is STV where the difference between the best and worse are 5 seconds alive. Apart from that we have zergs, ganks and griefs.

Enjoyment is subjective, hard to balance things around something other than the main content they are pumping out each phase (which is clearly PvE). I want skinning to be fun, for my own enjoyment, but fact to the matter is it never has been nore is it the focus of Blizzard.

Yeah, a grind that can be done pretty much anywhere at any point, with any means, for a set that means nothing as there’s no place to utilize it nore isnt even the best (even for the PvP itself). There’s no actual content for it, and the content we have for it (BGs) have been nerfed to the ground by Blizzard.

Unless there’s acually a initiative other than “I should be able to kill people easier than they kill me”, that requieres balanced PvP, I doubt Blizzard will care much at all about creating a so called “balance” for the zerg that’s STV and currently their main - and only - PvP attraction. Think the 3 phases so far has proved that to be correct, dont you agree?

Sealtwisting was a thing in tbc , whats ur problrm? It will make paladin very strong in pvp and will bring back slow weapon meta or increase dmg from curent

Yes but atlest they bring pala back in pvp. 24 th april rets gonna hit like a truck in pvp. Imagine white atrack crit +som crit +soc crit. Its like u deliting 50% alredy

Like Seal of Command really procs at an effective rate for PVP (and even for PVE) Sometimes I wonder do people really have understanding of how PVP works.

Use slow wep , like 3.60, 3.70. 3.80 speed in pvp no? Also u can use som+sor. Sor will crit evry hit which boost ur exorcism dmg in pvp , pve. Best burst dmg ever possible. We need fast weps in pve only. The only reason 2h fast handed works is due to pve. If u use fast wep in pvp u hit like wet noodle and do 0 impact

You talk like paladin crits are that frequent to make you a “burst” monster in pvp mate  Stop being delusional and please be realistic. Those paladin changes will do little to no changes.

Only twisting that worths in PVP is seal of justice/seal of command twist so you can use judgement of command to deal more damage to stunned enemy.

Seal twisting is probably the worst that could happen to rets. Why implement a mechanic that requires an addon to play? Now instead of watching your rotation, or watching the encounter mechanics your eyes will be set on swing timer. I can’t understand who except maybe just a couple sweaty nerds could enjoy this. Exo spam and ACP still bis in p3 was already bad gameplay, and now this. There was so many choices of paladin playstyle and you choose the worst. Really disappointed.
