Season of Discovery professions...?

So, we’ve all seen that SoD is attempting to tackle class balance in Classic by pretty much making every class super strong. Breaking the warrior meta by making every class as strong as warriors instead of nerfing warriors, the in-depth talk said.

But how are professions going to play out? If there’s one thing Classic is known for, it’s that Engi is the godmode profession and you’re a scrub if you don’t take it. Obviously professions wont make much of a difference with the lvl25 cap, but as the game eventually progresses to 60, do you think Blizzard are going to do anything to tackle the engi meta?

Well seeing as we will already get new wizard oils and sharpening stones in phase 1 I do hope they tackle it by buffing the other professions a bit

as far as I understand professions should be able to go up to lvl 225.
0-10 = 75
10-20 = 150
20+ = 225

What about gnomish deathray.
Requires 240 engineering. Gnomes get engineering 225 +15 = 240.
Deathray can be learned at trainer and does not need to be farmed. If you can farm the higher materials, you will have a nuke about 600-800 non-crit.

Same goes for pets the engineer can craft, they are connected with his engineering level and should be quite a strong opponent at lvl 25.

Of course everything in combination of lev 25.
In 1k needles, there is a cave, that spawns mithril and as far as I remember has npcs within the range from 25-30.
Should be possible to farm with lvl 25 and good gear, for iron as well.

I imagine that they’ll hide some secrets in professions too. Probably not enough to make or break profession “balance” but enough to at least make other professions interesting to check out.

I’m hoping that the new sharpening stones and wizard oils is an indicator that Blizzard are aware of the profession problem.

Sure it aint much of a problem at lvl25 but it will be when the level cap increases.
