Selling green BoEs with TSM (Normal Pricing)

So, since this forum is full of whiny threads about things that we mostly have no control over, I thought I’d make a topic that can actually benefit some of us.

Right now when I try and mass sell BoEs, the default “normal price” which is defined by TSM is too high. (like 3-5 gold)

1). How many times do you try to sell an item (green BoE) before you DE/vendor it?

2). Which items do you think have a relatively high chance of selling? Leather +agi, +sta? And which items do you think are not worth trying to sell?

3). How do you define a price of an item if there are none of it on AH already?

4). What do you use as your Minimum, Normal and Maximum price string in TSM?

Thanks for reading, and I hope there are some clever sellers in here, who are willing to share a few tricks with the rest of us regarding the streamlined process of mass selling.

What’s TSM?

I’d guess he’s referring to the addon TradeSkillMaster.

Yeah, TradeSkillMaster - I did not reply since that smelled like a troll that only wanted to start more drama.

Googling: “wow tsm” would have given all the info.

lol if you’re that paranoid about these forums why even bother with them? Seems kinda pointless.

I would have posted in Professions section but there is almost no activity there, that’s why.

So I took the chance of posting here, because there is more traffic in General.

Lol troll…
What’s strange about asking what your abbrevation means?

Now that I know…

  1. 1-3 times

  2. Anything that is usable and doesn’t have a quest reward or dungeon drop equivalent.

  3. I ask myself what I would pay for it or sometimes I go crazy and put a high price and hope I get lucky. With “…of frozen wrath” for example.

  4. I don’t use TSM, duh. :grinning:

I never sell BOEs on the AH because the fee to put them in is too high, so the risk of them not selling is very high.
I either sell all BOEs to vendors or disenchant them.
If their price is above 3-4g I sell them, if it’s below I disenchant them.
Usually weapons have a high sell price so I usually sell them and disenchant everything else and put the mats I get on the AH.
Enchanting mats can be put on the AH for free so the risk is literally 0 and you can even overcut your competition if you think their sell price is too low.
I believe that over time I make more gold this way than when I try selling them on the AH.

Simple anwser - I vendor all greens unless I know it will sell things like “of shadow wrath” that’s received a high roll then I’ll sell it. I’ll sometimes sell leveling greens “of the Eagle” (int/sta) and I used to sell “of the monkey” (agi/sta) but I found that they don’t sell very well only “of the Eagle” and only if there is no better alternative from a dungeon of a similar level. I imagine +healing greens would also sell quite nicely but I haven’t had any worth selling yet.

Overall though I’ll just avoid auctioning greens as you lose too much on the deposit if they don’t sell and most of the time they don’t.

That’s been my experience anyhow.

  1. Usually just the once if I can be bothered
  2. Sta gear at lower levels then probably of the eagle stuff
  3. What I’d pay / double vendor price to make it worth it / how desirable the stats are for the level

At release of classic it was quite common to find people putting things on AH lower than vendor price especially low level stuff so I’d buy from AH then vendor it😂 it’s not as frequent anymore to find these things though

You still find people doing that on the auction house but not with gear usually mats, consumables and such… I laugh a little when I see someone put something up and they are actually losing money on it due to the auction cut or breaking even at best. Its good to have these people though because these are the fools you make your money on all the way through classic, these people don’t understand the economy and that suits me and my alts epic mount fund. :+1:

Exactly, to them they think they are making money so they are happy… For us we are making more money and are even happier! :joy:

Bear: stam, str.
Monkey: stam, agi.
Eagle: stam, int.
(Whale: stam, spirit.)

These sell well for leveling and even at lvl 50+ if it’s not overpriced.

Average prices on AH for most green gear by level:

lvl 10+ @ 30s to 60s
lvl 20+ @ 30s to 80s
lvl 30+ @ 40s to 1g50s
lvl 40+ @ 1g to 3g
lvl 50+ @ 1g50s to 3g50s

Blue gear all level @ 2g to 40g
Epic gear all level @ 20g to 350g

(These are only the average prices of all the weapons and necklances, rings and the cloth, leather, mail gear I have seen all over the levels for the past 2 months, I check AH every day since you can never know when you get lucky, exept Plate because I don’t need that right now for any character.)
