You’re not selling any service for real money so I don’t see why it wouldn’t be allowed but it is a pretty meh thing to do if you’re hoarding names to sell to people?
Don’t worry, no one would want a name of a boss that can be beaten by holding your keyboard up in the air and face rolling into it.

Well you don’t make anyone suffer from it. Nor someone will gain any benefit over other people. So I think go for it?
Not like Blizzards can even do something about it or even prove you doing so.

I guess it’s neither forbidden nor explicitly supported, so you’re on your own risk and can’t ask for help if anything goes wrong.
So, how would you go about legitimately selling your character name?
Drag into into trade window? Maybe list it on the Auction House?

All “in-game gold” services are allowed afaik. People is selling achievement’ titles for in-game gold, so why not names?
I was referring to a video of Apes I seen someone post part of their rag kill run.
This guy was holding his keyboard high up in the air like a musical instrument while grooving in his chair to loud music and randomly splooshing on keys without paying attention to what was being pressed. As he looked at his Twitch stream, talking to them in response.
It was funny to see

How do you go about giving your new whisper pal your character name?
You got a Blue post or TOS rule that verifies it?
Comes down to trust. Do you trust a complete stranger to receive the 100g, then delete the character so you’re allowed to create it? I personally wouldn’t, easy as hell to get scammed.

Don’t post in a forum if you don’t want a discussion… Your question was answered, it’s not against the rules as it’s in game currency but it’s a stupid thing to do and easy to get scammed.
I doubt it, there’s a thread on retail actively selling them via the forums here: https://us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/20765806571 if blizzard or the community volunteers deemed it against the rules, the onus would have been on them to remove the thread.
Thus, unless it is explicitly states in the ToS, you cannot be penalized for assuming the same.
