It’s not just the services channel. I’m in the Guide program and so I have access to the Newcomer Chat channel. Before this bug I had one window open for Newcomer Chat issues. Now, every single window gets spammed with Newcomer Chat text. I try to reset my windows, but every time I change zones or /reload the issue reappears and I continue to get spammed. My only recourse is to leave the guide program or hope this gets fixed VERY fast.

So… when is there going to be accountability and a fix instead of workarounds? It’s been 3 days. We pay monthly for this, by the hundreds of thousands.
How about an update that fixes the bugs that the update introduced that was not tested by the public?
How about not having to go to forums to look for statements / fixes and instead getting something shipped to the game launcher that addresses it?

Indeed, the running joke is “small indie company” but that doesn’t fly any longer, does it? It’s Microsoft running the show, the biggest corporation in the game.
What am I saying? Just look at the state of Windows, it’s all downhill from here folks.
Dont forget to fix the outline bug… you guys sure have funny ways to screw up the game somehow. the functionality of the outline seems reversed.

If you want your Services and Trade chat in a different window, a quick way to do it, is close the tab and put it in a new tab again, altho it still resets every login, but its easier than going to the settings and selecting which chat you want in which tab
Yes thank you, I think many people are doing exactly that. This is not about fixes or band-aids (which as you clearly stated don’t persist) or whatever file permissions their ’ secret update ’ messed up.
This is about them solving it so we don’t have to do their job (again).
It’s almost like this is gonna end up like the error that Actionbars can taint itself when loading in to instanced content or exiting it without using any Addons since Dragonflight and it never got fixed to this date.
We shouldn’t be coming up with fixes and spending time on a problem that should have been fixed day 1 (instead of a " cant reproduce ") by the ones we pay to play this buggy mess.
There is an addon that should help with the spam. It’s in the UI forum.
it’s just a comedy that someone suggests turning off all chats in the game))) Especially for you guys, there are those who need chats in the game, but this doesn’t mean that I want to see a trade chat in the raid chat, is it really that hard to understand?

Yes, but that is the same as leaving the channel (/leave x), it will remove that channel from ALL your chat windows, also the ones you want to have it in.
edit: I guess some people never knew how to leave a channel but always perma muted it instead. If that is what you want, then this will have fixed the issue for you.
yep and every time I turn trade services into a new window until at some point I noticed I had 5 windows of trade services open… close one of them and it just adds it back to the main channel
scroll up chat, theres dude made an addon that is currrently is a solution, works like a charm.

It’s a solution to it not being in any tab, it is not a solution for those of us who want it to be in another tab. I require the latter as do others

I left the guide service. Easier than turning off channels every time I change zones.
