Meanwhile I just want to know why some bloke from Aggramar is even argueing here. Just your usual troll?
The general consensus is its an alt from one of the usual phobe suspectes.
I am still under the impression heâs gotten here from the suggested threads tab somehow. While weâve seen opinions somewhat like his own before (although that RP relationship = grooming thing is kinda new), the writing style does not seem to point towards anyone weâve seen before in particular.
I dunno about that one, I do own a lot of rainbow flags and t-shirts. So why canât they in a game?
Iâm tempted to agree with you, itâs definetly not one person weâve seen lately, that I am sure of.
When the phrase âIn character is not Out of Characterâ becomes important.
Is not you, is your character. Neither side is supposed to do a) sexual explicit stuff in character or b) take it outside of roleplay.
I legit donât think you even roleplay, so why are you here arguing?
Just so, I have nothing against LGBTQ characters. But I -am- getting sick and tired of seeing characters like this one stroll around in Stormwind;
https://imgur.com/a/pdTzkhW
Just have to live and let live. It used to irk me because mer immersion and people generally found it cringe a long while back, but itâs the in thing now so eh.
This is why Medivh opened the dark portal.
Hey, I saw that person in the harbour couple days ago!
I still get confused whenever I see characters like that, they canât look past the broad shouldered, He-man sculpted male model, but somehow the hourglass-figured, breasted female model is no problem for their immersion?
Confusing!
Let me give you a hint, fellas: it begins with âEâ and ends in âRPâ.
And a disturbingly high proportion of them are known jade witches /purveyors of equally gross fetishes.
Sadly, I think thatâs an example of somebody using the female model for the wrong reasons, to overplay into a kink/fetish rather than just have a character who is either not graced with a typically masculine body, or falls more in the non-binary side of things.
There are far too many Lovejoys on the server and not enough characters who respectfully display gender identities, and sadly that profile is yet another of the former.
Oh, and while Iâm at it; androgyny isnât a man who looks like a woman. Androgyny is someone whoâs sex, from a glance, is indeterminate. I hate how these people ruin the concept of androgyny all so they can parade their kink around RP hubs.
I just typically assume if I ever call out things like that, Iâll be labelled as a bigot.
Not by me. While yes, judging a gay person for being gay is obviously a bad thing, judging any person for putting âlooks like Taylor Swift but thicc and a boiâ in their about tab is totally fair game.

Donât really think its our place to say what a player can or canât do with their characterâs design choice. Ultimately this is a blizzard issue for the character models being utterly shoddy with zero ability to fully express oneself.
Just because some use it for malign reasons doesnât mean everyone does.
Is it immersion breaking? Not really. Most peopleâs characters look different to what they actually have on the model.
Odd? A little bit sure, but no more worse than massively jacked roid rage human male paladin rp on giant growth potions.
And at the end of the day theyâre unlikely to change tack so really itâs just wasted breath and just attaches a strange image to people who obsess over players wanting to express themselves like
idk about you, anonymous classic altposter, but my immersion really is broken when i walk through cathedral square and someone is blatantly and tastelessly parading their fetish around as if theyâre not roleplaying in the world of warcraft but some sort of highly interactive expansion pack for second life.
I agree and hope I didnât come off to the contrary. In the instance of the character Obilot showed however itâs absolutely a kink thing with the short-shorts and thigh-high boots. And if itâs not then wow they missed the mark on the transmog and have absolutely no self awareness on how their character comes across.
Same with Lovejoy. Again, âTaylor Swift but thicc and a boiâ is a horrendous way to describe oneâs character and a blatantly fetishistic approach to writing.
Only hard disagree with this. The advantage to MMORPG RP is being able to see visual stimuli that represents your character and surroundings. When thereâs something there that doesnât fit, it really attacks someoneâs immersion. It would be like if the Enterprise suddenly flew over Stormwind.
I am so sorry to hear this, roided out human male paladin roleplayer.
Iâm not sure calling someoneâs gender identity or sexual orientation a âfetishâ is quite kosher in the year 2021. But carry on deus vulting and all that.
Again, many characters in lore dress like this, Valeera Sanguinar, Sally Whitemane. Are you saying players arenât allowed to do this for legitimate reasons? Donât get me wrong I have no problem throwing the book at people who are openly using it to solicit shady rp but automatically assuming everyone wearing thigh highs and having a feminine body is up to trouble is acting grossly in bad faith.
Again, skimpy clothing is completely part of the setting, its a very conscious blizzard design choice. Saying it breaks immersion is like saying Orcs with massive shoulders are also immersion breaking.
