It definitely is.
Exactly what I wanted to say. Characters like the one I linked are making a mockery of people who are genuinely androgynous or transitioned. It’s just tasteless to fetishize it.

Perhaps. I’ll admit that being asexual makes me a bit more conservative and a bit more of a prude than most, I get deeply uncomfortable at anything that I percieve as sexualization. But honestly? I’ve not found many characters that go for the skimpy outfit approach that aren’t often questionable to me. I just avoid them because I have no interest in RPing with someone who I think is typing one handed.
Hey Obahar, I think you summoned him into the thread. You shouldn’t say his name in public bro.
I only said it twice. It’s three times to summon.
I said ‘jade witch’, so that must count as three.
But das what Obahar said. “I think that’s an example of somebody”.
It means that person does that, not all.
It be. I would prefer if they just used the male model and then put into the description of their trp that they are more on the feminine side. I once roleplayed a thin (male) worgen and people were actually including it in emotes towards me.
I don’t know. If I read a TRP that is clearly oversexualized then I would prefer stay off them.
It’s about the TRP that has more than that written in it. Which oftenly comes with a large description of body parts and such.
[Everyone that has carpel tunnel syndrome or lost a limb / was born with only 1 hand disliked that]
And what of players who identify transgender or feel themselves to androgynous? Are they not allowed to express themselves? As I said I totally get the type of player that’s being referring to here but a little consideration can go a long way.
And that is your prerogative, but like Mion said a “live and let live approach” works better.
but that’s where you’re wrong: jade witches don’t deserve to live.
reductio ad bigotium
Then uh… nah I got nothing, or at least nothing I can type that won’t get me suspended from the forums. Very few family friendly ways to write what I was insinuating.
i’m sorry, who?
Depends.
Are they:
Trying to be legit about their feelings and identify, portraying it as a normal (as it should be) way of living and their sexuality + what they identify as is not the main characteristic of their character?
Trying to fetishize it by writing what ig of a behind they got and how many percings they got in places people will never be able to see?
1 is ok, 2 is not so appreciated.
jade witches, also known as coad contributors, also known as p*dos.
Or maybe we don’t try to force people to behave a way we want them to and instead try to educate them and let them RP as they want so long opinions you may not like is used in moderation and not the main subject.
I think much of the sexism or anti lgbtq+ stuff is a product of far too much self-insertion and defining their characters over this trait and this trait alone.
I assume this until I see the second type. You’ll find there’s a lot of players out there who wish to explore their identity though RP mediums, especially those who would otherwise be at risk of expressing such in their offline lives either from an intolerant family or society or otherwise risks they have that would negatively impact them if they “came out”.
Yawn. Cold take. Taking offense at a homophobic remark in-game is not “too much self-insertion” it’s another RPer being tone-deaf.
I shouldn’t have to tolerate that, and given the posts of many in this thread, few in their right mind do tolerate that.
And they are welcome to do so. I implore and encourage that. That does not mean dressing in very little and describe the qualities of a rear-end, hips, breasts etc.
Exploring sexuality does not mean exploring sexual themes.
Then why are you offended irl about something a fictional character says to another fictional character in a fictional universe?
So we’ve gone from calling gender identity and sexual orientation from “fetishes” to accusing those outside of the norm* as kiddy abusers?
this is the mind on human male paladin rp.
*cis/het norm that is
Because it has no place in the universe that Azeroth is set in, and because it reflects very poorly on the player behind the character to type those things out, think about them, and hit enter.
Okay never talk to me about bad faith arguements again when you cannot commit yourself to good faith in the slightest.
