Seriously though, that will turn a lot of people away and that’s no one’s victory
Majority of wow players base does only LFR so saying it like his opionion doesnt matter do no hold any ground. If anything we should not look at what min maxers and top end raiders have to say since they are such minority.
Some people are only able to have fun when others tell them how to play.
Ooooh so thats why the que times are over an hour, gotit.
Or just remove the rpg part from wow and name it mmo, then noone gonna wait any rpg element at all. And then people who like mmorpgs will go play other games, where rpg is.
Do you even understand how queueing works, with different roles and how that affects queue times? I guess not.
That’s sad, isn’t it?
Not in a ‘dis’ kind of way, but truly sad.
That’s… just like Classic. It’s not a particularly big problem provided that those spells don’t have a massive, massive impact to the point of being an entire expansion’s worth of cooldowns and massively powerful utility.
The problem with this system is that the spells it adds are completely unnecessary and incredibly powerful to the point where they can make or break your ability to play your character. Racials are almost already at the point where this is a problem, and they are much, much weaker than these.
In addition, most of them sound decisively un-fun. They sound like they’ll annoy me, quite literally. Massive stacking cooldowns (i.e. swifty macros) are obviously back, completely random spellcasts, lag from casting 16 spells in 4 seconds, gamebreaking utilities, and all sorts of other nonsense.
Racials are where the limit should be. Make them as strong as racials. Then we’ll probably be fine while still retaining the flavour of the idea.
This stuff needs to be toned WAY back.
Queue times are over 1h becouse of lack of tanks.
There will always be the best. People might need to dedicate countless of hours of theorycrafting and simulation to find it, but they will do it.
You might want to scrow up and see Areapea’s post mentioning and explaing the que times you might learn something about how they work yourself.
Unless they separate the core class mechanics now, the game will be forced to make swapping between Covenants very easy and accessible or probably face another Legion > BFA sized exodus the moment this swap becomes too much effort to invest in when a large majority of the players will want to swap
Separating Core Class Mechanics is, in my (probably to some extent biased) view the only real way to preserve the choice of Covenant giving you access to unique content and this RPG element to it
It will not survive being tied into core class mechanics specifically
Alright, it’s painfully obvious you can’t comprehend anything beyond LFR hero or Min Maxer so I’ll stop wasting my breath.
How?!
Because people need their hand held?
I think it will be good for many players to stand on their own two feet and make their own decisions when it comes to THEIR characters.
But what do I know.
I want to be my own person and pick what i like, thats the point they have zero need for these ability’s to exist. Spend the development time on something everyone wants. Nothing wrong with having these Covenants rewarding cosmetics, mounts, titles, maybe some unique solo content. That works for everyone, this system simply doesn’t.
The only of use outside of an instance also works for the casuals also as its unlikely they will be doing that content anyway so will always have use of the ability’s.
A bit part of WoW is progression, optimisation and competition.
This happened with Azerite in BFA beta, they had to spend the whole expan trying to fix it. The dev time should be spent on something else that everyone can enjoy casual or not. Lets not have another BFA.
I have done my part of high end raiding from Vannila to MoP. I saw both sides. And sure game should never be tunned around high end players.
It’s not even high end players. That’s the part you just seem flat out incapable of understanding.
Even with multiple soulbind abilities involved? Changing rotations based on the new legendaries? Etc.
I hope it’s the hardest ever to determine. I want to see what happens when the herd has to suddenly think for themselves. It will be glorious.
I don’t see how that’s related at all
Not everyone’s decision on what they want will be aesthetic value, there is also value behind the performance
Let’s say I really really enjoy pushing high m+ keys with my guildies, so much more then aesthetics, then obviously the most fun option for me is going to be whichever option is going to give me more perfomance because I don’t care about aesthetics but I really really enjoy performance and then well, what we’re all basically discussing in this thread happens; there is imbalance, it is fixed, your choice is now suddenly no longer one you want because it no longer contributes to what you find is enjoyable, namely performance.

Yes it is. You dont need bis covenants abilities in normal/heroic raiding or even in mythic 10. And sure Blizz wont tuned them around having bis covenants.
