SOLUTION? for some
i had the same problem with black screens, flickering etc etc
i did a complete ā€œflushā€ of WTF / INTERFACE/ CACHE folders, then i got rid of the 471.11 drivers using DDU ( important to do it in safemode with networkunplugged / disabled ).
installed the 457.51 drivers, still in safemode / no network. Do a repair of wow, then i did a restart of the pc into normal mode w/ network.
launched the game, did this in chat ( ignore the warning) :
/Console Cvar_reset
/Console Cvar_default

Logged out ( donā€™t ā€œexitā€ ), delete the folders, and renamed the old folders back.
voilaā€¦ no more flickering crap, ANDā€¦
important to those havving RTX card with fans spiking to 100%ā€¦
The fans are oh so quiet

The Fix 1 in this link is what helped me after all this time, hope it helps for others.

Is this already fixed or gonna be fixed anytime by Nvidia/blizzard? Iā€™ve been with 457xx drivers since the flickering started. Itā€™s so annoying because apart from wow I also play other games and I would like to get the drivers to the last update, but wow its my main game so I hate the flickeringsā€¦

Why would Blizzard fix an nVidia driver problem?

They arenā€™t nVidia. They donā€™t own nVidia, in fact the two companies donā€™t even LIKE each other after nVidia tried to add WoW to GeForce Now without Blizzards permission, and Blizzard had to send in the lawyers.
