Shadowlands release date (and) time in Europe confusion

Okay, I admit, I am confused by this. While I know that for example 3PM equals to 15:00 time, which we used in Europe (mostly), I am confused what is 12 AM.

So, when they say that global release date for SL in Europe is November 24th 12AM, does that mean I will be able to play Shadowlands starting from 12:00 (noon, if you will, middle of the DAY) on Tuesday 24th, or from 00:00 (beginning of the day, during night) on Tuesday 24th?

In another words, is it released during the day or during midnight?

I am asking in order to play taking some days off. Having said that, I think that first two days will be chaotic to play, and that if I am to take days off only for SL, it would be smart to take it 2 days after launch I’d say. What are peoples opinions?

It is released at midnight for Europe which is 00:00 CEST (central Europe Standard time)

If in the UK it will be 23:00 on the 23rd which is 11pm.

It is a global release so we all get to start at the same time. The chart below shows how that works our in various timezones.

Thanks for your reply, but I am aware of the chart itself. I am simply stupid to understand whether one will be able to play SL on Tuesday 24th midnight (Tuesday just started), or Tuesday 24th 12:00 (noon, half Tuesday already passed).

If I understood Nevtcat, it would be midnight, meaning I will log in after getting up probably.

With the lag on release it would be probably 1 week later :smiley:

Find where you live on the map, that is the local time your launch will be.

I live in the UK so for me it will be on the 23rd at 2300 hours, if I lived in Paris then the launch would be at midnight 0000 hours. Both occur at the same time

But one’s 23:00, and the other mindight! Such craze to call them the same. Back in my day, we just said when the moon comes up, that is the same, everyone can see it.

There is an hour time difference between the UK and Central Europe. :roll_eyes:

Where do you live OP?

Best way I can put it is this…If you live on mainland Europe(except Portugal) then at 00:01 on the 24th November you can play the game.

So the 1st minute of the 24th will be a go, so middle of the night, tho as someone who has experienced many launches, my advice would be to go to bed, and get up in the morning fresh and excited. :slight_smile:

on a side note is the pre event starting globally at the same time, or do we not know?

No that will follow the maintenance restart, so Weds am for Eu.

Thanks eveyrone for replies, I got my answer. SL will launch 00:01 (midnight) on Tuesday 24th, but as someone said, I doubt it will be playable until THursday morning.

Of course not. You’ll either be in a long long Que to join, or disconnect entirely without servers being up.

So kind of expect it to take a while. Maybe even days.

Oh wouldnt say days tbh, the last couple have been ok if not trying to get in at launch time. The last major balls up was WoD, I think the launch should be ok after a few hours, maybe mid morning the day after, but time will tell.

This year’s pre-patch doesn’t give me much hope.

And besides, we’re in pandemic year. Expect the unexpected.

No, its the other way around…

Midnight is 12am as in 11:59pm just before 12 am.
Midday is 12pm as in 11:59am just before 12pm.

Mother says 12am is midnight and therefore no arguement :joy:
