It should give a chance of loot, not insanely high but at least something. It’s time consuming so it’s not like you aren’t working for it.

some better reward at the end would be great, or if you atleast clear 5 wings a week you would get a chest whit an item next week, now it is just for soul ash pretty much, so some reward would be great.

so does fishing. the problem is there’s two types of content in WoW:
those that give you ilvl upgrades and those that don’t.
the importance of those that do is infinite and the moment it doesn’t, it becomes completely irrelevant. hence why blizz is so stingy with which content rewards how much gear.
If you think people will stick around in such a frustrating expansion (the expansion is great , the drop rates are not) you’re blind. People will leave once they see how hard it is to get gear

There could be a middle ground ? This is going from one extreme to the other
and where would that be? if torghast drops incrementing ilvl rewards to stay relevant for the next 1.5 years, it will make M+ and the current raid tier completely irrelevant.
if anything, I can see it as a replacement for catchup mechanics for alts, like timeless isle gear. but giving it relevant ilvl rewards you should be getting from mainstream content like M+ and raids would be an epic fail

Then make both of these activities have a decent drop rate
having to wax every few months makes you want to cover your chest in lighter fluid and burn that hair away, now imagine being told you got to do it every week

How about making Torghast and similar a non mandatory customizable zone, like visions (in terms of being able to chose the difficulty), where you could have picked the difficulty, where rewards scale, where the challenge scale based on the size of the group (1 to 5) and the roles involved (dps, tank, healers) and you can even choose between a number of layers, a number of floors per layer, a number of themes and colors and vibes? And the reward is also more or less under player control, you can cash out at certain points or risk for more.
Would that be to much fun and to much player control over the game?

I think Torghast itself is fine. The issue is that we have to clear sooooo many levels just to keep up to scratch with our Leggos.
Like seriously, why on earth would they force us to clear the same old floor 100 times? Oh right, coz then we’re engaged with the game, and that looks good to shareholders.

It really isn’t. The idea for Torghast is from the million other Rogue-like games out there, it’s nothing like Diablo beyond random level generation.
whether it’s dailies, weeklies, valor farming from dungeons, raids, or simply time gating- people will always complain.

Ash system is lousy. Crafting system arouhnd is lousy. Some classes die in 1 hit in group play, even in single play cause you got to many mobs you need to interrupt and you dont have the tools to do so.

No, Cause with FFXIV you start fresh, lvl 1 in that No baseline class toolkit.
I like it, however, it has two major flaws:
- You are not saved to the last completed floor if you leave during a run.
- It has no catch up mechanic.
