Shadowlands was fun until

Yup you guessed it … TORGHAST. I’m not sure why blizzard would consider this fun and I’m really lost as to all the streamers and testers said that Torghast is so fun and amazing, because as a sensible person its about as much fun as having your chest waxed, you know it has to be done because you dont like having a furry chest but the thought of having to wax every few months makes you want to cover your chest in lighter fluid and burn that hair away, now imagine being told you got to do it every week.

Seriously blizzard shadowlands is fun but this Torghast has got to go, itis going to be my deal breaker, its like a bad version of a diablo dungeon and i dont need to pay 9.99 a month to play diablo.

It seems that someone realised that this type of content is the cheapest to make in terms of how long it will take people to grind it out, just another way to keep people subbed for longer. here’s a better idea, make content that is fun, like the majority of shadowlands has been thus far.

I`m sure they do, but when your not completely dumb the mind requires more stimulus. So no need to troll

Thats not an answer. I can counter that with “No its not”. But that sound like a conversation you have at a playground on a Seesaw.

“its like a bad version of a diablo dungeon and i dont need to pay 9.99 a month to play diablo.”

And the only crap u get is soul ash.

I personally would enjoy it if:

  1. It had better rewards than just some soul ash.
  2. The layers had fewer floors.

Combine the lack of satisfying rewards with quite a long time of basically doing nothing but clearing trash and Torghast becomes a slog. Just my personal opinion of course.

Because I (and others) disagree with you it’s trolling? Grow up and welcome to adult life where people can have different opinions.

The answer … Its not fun. I’m not sure how that is not an answer, but I suppose your someone that like Torghast, and then it would be trying to have a conversation with a religious fanatic, blinded by love for blizzard and hatred for those that dont. :stuck_out_tongue:

I admit there could be better Loot. But besides that I think Thorghast is one of the most engaging and fun content we ever had.
Seriously, besides Dungeons and Raids, can you name anything that comes even close to Thorghast in the history of WoW?

Dont be gross. Everyone that disagrees is a fanatic is just an icky thing to say.

Exactly, If there was the chance of loot at the end that was directly beneficial to my progression then it would make the boredom a little easier to swallow. But its a good 20-40 mins of time for a few soul ash. Seriously I’ve had dentist visits that are more simulating

Yet on this occasion, Nail on head

I kinda like torghast, but i find it takes just a bit too long for kinda meh rewards. I’ll do it when i have the time, it doesnt matter if i’m a bit behind on legendary crafting

Ever considered that youre the one being in the wrong here? And that youre fanatically trying to convey your own thoughts about something as gospel?`

Or can you admit that there is some content that you personally dont like, yet many others do?

I for instance hate PvP, but I would never ever say “Blizzard, PvP suxx, remove please!”.

I don’t actually hate Torghast that much, but my standard little game design tests reveal a lot about Torghast that might be a problem, to put it mildly.

  1. There is literally no sense of the world. I don’t even get a physical entrance into the tower from the maw! I just get this little portal as if it’s a million miles away.
  2. The corridors repeat forever. It’s very rare that I get this sense of “Wow, that’s really cool”, because actually it’s just the same rooms copy-pasted a million times.
  3. It doesn’t embrace its own randomness. You can always count on the boss being at floor 6 and that floor 3 has an NPC and nothing else. You can always count on 1-2 quests during your run.
  4. You grow incredibly powerful in it - in fact yesterday I got powered up so much that I crit the last boss for 800k, and I know the next attack will hit as hard, so at least 400k hit. So up to around 1.6 million damage 2 seconds.
  5. When I leave, I feel this tremendous amount of power flow out of me. There’s this sense of deflation. It’s like a burrowed power system except it’s way more extreme and it happens a couple times an hour.
  6. It’s distinctly anti-social. When inside there’s not a feeling of danger as such, but rather a feeling or torment and endless loneliness. You will never find another player character in Torghast who’s lost alongside you. Given this is an MMORPG, this is a huge mistake.
  7. If I try to invite more people into my group, Torghast not only gets harder in absolute terms, it gets harder per player. Making a Torghast group is literally counter-productive.

So we return to our triad: Sense of world, sense of community, and sense of danger with good combat. Torghast fail 2 of 3, but it’s only a matter of time before you get the traits that kills that as well.

I’m not gonna lie, I was excited about Torghast. Points 5 and 6 were my original concerns with it, but Torghast has fulfilled many of my worst aversions to such a system.

I’m not finding it boring per see, but I am not terribly amused about it, either. It’s just… okay. It’s okay.

But if asking me for reasons not to like it, that’s my reply.

EDIT: And I didn’t actually spot these problems during my beta test. I just… didn’t say anything at all. As you might imagine, it’s unusual for me to not give some negative pushback against new systems, but it happened this time. I just didn’t know or understand the problems with Torghast, but I think I do now.

Me : Guesses its because of 0 loot

I would like it if there was an option to cash out the soul ash from every level and killing the bosses would have better rewards like large amount of soul ash, transmogs and or mounts.

But on its current iteration the place just feels like a complete unrewarding chore.
