Shadowstrike

So I’m very grateful we got this and I haven’t even done any pvp yet where it’s really going to shine however…

  1. Glove slot - with the very lack luster choice of runes having this, mutilate and saber slash all on gloves feels even more limiting, for me as a sub rogue shadowstrike feels almost mandatory, The extra mobility, QOL and reduced downtime make rogue feel somewhat fresh but seeing other classes using 2/3 there runes in game changing flashy ways and been able to take on multiple mobs when my option are teleport stab or change your default stab to one of two other near identical (gameplay wise) moves.

  2. Shadowstep - why oh why are we forced to teleport and strike… We can’t pick pocket (this is a HUGE deal and alsmot makes it’s not worth using especially at later levels) we can’t use opener, we can use it to passively reposition while in stealth, PLEASE if you change nothing else at least give us a choice to remove the attack

Rogue need a buff, there is zero damage increase and zero self healing added where ask every other class is able to put out significantly more damage over there base due to new runes AND if mobs hp is increasing % based on there level at 25 I will be fight mobs with 25% more hp, more damage with zero extra out going damage and only defence would be wasting combo points for extra parry, iv played most classes to 20 so far and rogue feels the worst by far with little to no difference over classic era.

Rogues are also like 2nd best dps in the game currently. While sure their levelling is rough, saying they have no dmg is a stretch

Emm I think your mistaken… Rogues have performed poorly in every raid iv seen so far.

There is nothing added onto base classic damage wise of any real significance, my lvl 28 hunter has 30% increase pet damage Or a instant cast with explosive or extra damage and effects shot and thats just gloves, then he also has a new extra melee what not only causes damage but can have cool down reset…

My lvl 10 warlock has increased crir for him and his pet and either a huge short cool down nuke what takes of like 50-70% hp or a instant cast extra damage and damage increased + heals…

So paladin, warlock, mage, hunter and even warriors are absolutely steam rolling mobs while rogues still have bad downtime and most Meh runes in sod :rofl:

Rogues are second best dps in the wow currently and there are statistics that proves that this is true. End of the discussion.

Totally agree, shadowstep, as it is, is …

Warry get combat charge with all movement hinderings removed, why dont we?

Shadowstep should be like this:
1 min CD
Teleports you behind target (frind or foe)
No stealth needed
No dmg
No energy cost

I dont see it being used in any spec as it is right now. In pvp you need the cheapshot opener or ambush/muti.

In pve you will not use it because you want to sap, or open up with bleed for dps or ambush/muti for dmg depending on the Situation.

In general rogue feels akward atm.
Hopefully we get some useful rune like cloak or Something. Or at least change shadowstep towards the written above

Edit: atm its only use is to steal Mobs

There is literally 0 reason to use shadowstrike as sub. Why would you use it when you will open with ambush ?

Shadow strike being on the same line as Saber Slash is really poor, but not as poor as the ability itself. Rogue is about utility and an ability that insantly stops you using most of your abilities (all the stealth openers) is just really poor. It also barely does any damange but is practically mandatory for pvp if you want to connect.

Rogues have great damage in PVE because of the combo of Deadly Brew and Envenom, but in PVP you basically cannot take those without FAP potions or a pocket healer as you will be kited into oblivion everytime, believe me i have tried it, it sucks.

My suggestions, change shadow strike to the classic shadowstep, allow it on friendly targets so you can get out also and change saber slash or shadowstep onto legs so you aren’t having to pick between them for pvp.

Saber Slash is simply too good to use shadow strike and it would make more sense to have to choose between shadowstep and the ranged stun (both utility) instead of between actually doing damage or actually connecting.

Also nerf shaman tankiness in PVP they are walking raid bosses

who cares if rogue tops dps on BFD meme raid? rogue always had good dps on classic, rune design is so bad that i skipped rogue this SOD and im OTP rogue player… not interesting runes and bad design

Shadow strike is a scuf shadow step what is one the most sub abilities in wow, I obviously would want the changes I outlined… :exploding_head:

You quote logs, I’m quoting nearly 20 years of wow experience, the bigger picture is rogues runes suck and dps and survivability pvp and solo pve rogue is pathetic period

Interesting what I’m reading here… Rogues had nothing to tag mobs with, but now we have one of the absolutely most broken mob-tagging skills for quests in the game.

The leveling and questing was made so much easier in contested areas it’s almost not funny.

People who don’t enjoy the current runes, I’m sorry you’re not excited and having a good time. I really enjoy it. Mutilate is the solo-version of backstab rogue, incredible dps, no need to apply poisons to weapons, very high damage.

3 days ago I completed my tanking runes and now we have the strongest tanking capacity for any class, on specific fights but especially on Gelihast who ignores all armor through his melee swings dealing shadow damage… The warrior in my group got slapped around while I barely took any damage WITHOUT evasion and nearly NO damage with evasion up.

Saying rogues are not interesting or gamechanging through the runes is just flat out wrong… If this is your opinion I implore you to try a new rune combination every other day just to try it out in actual play and not just reading the tooltips.

I totally agree with you. I even posted before SoD was reveiled a post regarding exactly the same: why Shadowstrike and not Shadowstep. People are basically afraid of rogues, its damage, pvp, etc etc. I am now leveling with in Shadowstrike is a very boring compared to the very classic rogue of TBC, it does not fit sub, shadowstep would be much much better, and they could nerf it or modify many of the aspects shadowstep has given in the story of the skill throughout the expansions.

I love the atm from Oniwaban, to steal mobs, right there…
I also believe casting to friendly targets is nice, and also believe that it would fit better in the pants runes than in the gloves one…

It’s shadowstrike and not shadowstep because this is for pvp and you don’t have tbc+ diminishing returns on CC

Warrior also does not have vanish, gouge, blind , sprint and ranged “kidney shot” and so on…. rogue at this level is lacking its stuns on demand and this is the main reason it feels bad cause the class is balanced with stuns in mind that they currently dont have. While warbringer is very nice, warriors on their own feels very bad in pvp compared even to rogues at their current state.
