Shaman call of water quest part 6 bug

So far I’ve been unable to complete the call of water quest and now can’t even find it any more. Here’s what I’ve done:

  • Part 1: grab quest in capital city
  • Handed in quest in barrens, grabbed part 2
  • Part 2: Filled water skin, handed in, grabbed part 3
  • Part 3: Filled water skin in Tarren Mill, went back to barrens, handed in and grabbed part 4
  • Part 4: Filled water skin in Ashenvale, went back to barrens, handed in and grabbed part 5
  • Part 5: ran to Islen and talked to her to grab part 6
  • Part 6: went to silverpine, drank the stuff, wacked the elemental. Here’s where things get fuzzy: I’m not entirely sure if I was so distracted by my dungeon party or the NPC already didn’t appear, but I left for SFK and afterwards found out I had to loot something and talk to an NPC.
  • I went back to the Barrens and grabbed a new sapta
  • Went back to Silverpine and drank the stuff: no quest elemental to talk to, couldn’t kill one again either
  • Went back to the Barrens and got a new sapta
  • Went back to Silverpine and talked to the troll NPC who said he could summon it (I was grouped at the time)
  • He summoned the NPC, which appeared, I right clicked it and it despawned.
  • I went back to the Barrens again and got a new sapta
  • Ungrouped, I went back to Silverpine and talked to the troll NPC. This time he said he was done summoning but there was no elemental (the fancy lightning show was there though).
  • I ditched the quest and searched for it in Orgrimmar, TB, Brine and Ilen and they didn’t give it anymore. I could get a new Sapta, which I grabbed.
  • I went back to Silverpine and talked to the troll yet again. He again attempted to summon the NPC and again it didn’t appear.

Needless to say I started to feel extremely bad (to put it mildly) about this quest as a whole somewhere halfway through the above points where things went wrong. I now can’t find nor complete the quest and at close to lvl 29 have no water totem yet.

I made a GM ticket 2 days ago, but it’s still at 4 days + before I can expect an answer.

ps: I also tried the back-up option on 2 different PC’s, one of which wasn’t running addons

Still a bug imo, but at least I got my totem!

did you place the bracers that drops form the elemental on top of the brazier? (by right clicking the brazier)

I am not sure if I did that, however after I got the sapta to talk to the troll, he categorically stated he’d summon the NPC I’d have to talk to after you place the bracers on the brazier, which went wrong straight away.

Also, after my initial attempt none of the other things I tried would allow me to fight the elemental again to get those bracers again. Nor are they in my inventory.

I was able to complete the quest, although it took a few seconds for the elemental I had to talk to to appear within the light show.

I think the troll NPC is there in case you miss something and have to redo. As a fail safe. But maybe the fail safe is bugged.

Hopefully the GM can set the quest to completed for you, but I guess they may be overworked right now.

Didn’t have any issues, but I guess the whole leaving and doing an instance may have messed it up somehow. Hopefully a GM gets back to you, but not sure what kind of GM support classic has at this point.

I think you’re both right, and truthfully, I also made this post in the hopes it might speeding the getting back to me part up a bit. I’m a bit worried that I’m gonna get a reply that won’t solve the issue straight away and will end up at 60 without water totem
