Shaman offensive abilities removed?

I wish they were making rsham better at dps, because that would be the right move. But no they are actually making it worse than it already is, which is insane. That was the whole point of my original post.

The OP names one, a single spell, I would like someone to list them all and how many are left. You will see they still have some.

I do not look at shadowlands previews so I don’t know

So how else are the decimating it? and what DPS spells remain?

I’m not surprised, current devs may only destroy. Creating is very hard for them.

2 spells left lighting bolt and lava burst .
Shamans will be the weakest dps healing class agaisnt god tier druids.

The only ones left are lava burst and frost shock + auto attacking with windfury weapon (lol), having that in any dps rotation is weird and clunky for obvious reasons if you’re trying to contribute to the fight.

Edit :So the rotation is gonna be lava burst then frost shock and standing still doing nothing if there is no healing needed. Just alt tab and watch a video until lava burst is up again because i get no procs from flame shocks anymore.

If im not mistaken flame shock procs their free of cast/CD lava burst.
That is an insane amount of a dps loss in their ST.

Their AoE is already beyond trash, probably the worst AoE dmg healer atm.

Sorry is that 2 or 3 left?

Is lightning bolt still there?

REMOVED [![]chain-lightning) Hurls a lightning bolt at the enemy, dealing (43.75% of Spell power) Nature damage and then jumping to additional nearby enemies. Affects 3 total targets.

REMOVED [![]flame-shock) Sears the target with fire, causing (43.75% of Spell power) Fire damage and then an additional (153.125% of Spell power) Fire damage over 21 sec.

REMOVED [![]lightning-bolt) Hurls a bolt of lightning at the target, dealing (71.25% of Spell power) Nature damage.

They also took back the baseline searing totem to all specs…

This is absurd.

I’m not sure, could be outdated, but on wowhead it says that lightning bolt is also removed.

Making healers “good” at dps helps making runs smoother and make it more exciting for the healers. Most healer i saw talking about it don’t want to just afk behind their group when they clear trash with low damage.

And i don’t know what you mean by “good” at dps, because i never saw a healer doing the same amount of damage (or even close) as a dps just because they have dps spells as well. The closest thing to good dps was holy paladin in legion with their ridiculous burst damage but that’s it when it comes to relevant dps.

Let’s see where it goes, surely they are going to do something with resto.

Seriously? :fearful:

You’re coming at this from a completely arbitrary angle.
Dealing damage as a healer is what makes it the hardest role in the game to be good at. A damage dealer has to deal high damage, a tank has to keep aggro, but a healer has to also deal damage if they care at all about pulling as much weight as they are potentially allowed.

Anything that is turned into nothing but pure healing is as plain as water. You can’t go wrong with it, but you aren’t going to convince anyone that this is a viable way to build a specialization. Some people might be fine with just healing and that’s fine. For everyone else who actually cares about playing the game when there’s nothing to do than overhealing? Not so much.

Besides, restoration shamans are historically on the more offensive side of things among healers. Of all healers, they make the least sense to cut back on damage dealing abilities for.

It’s not about competing with the DPS on meters, it’s about quality of life additions.

Where is the source for this? This is what i see on wowhead: All Shaman specs are receiving the following abilities:

New baseline abilities: chain heal, chain lightning, healing stream totem, flametongue weapon, flame shock, frost shock and lightning shield.

So that will be baseline for all specs.

Edit: i see it says removed from reatoration further down, but does that mean that its actually removed or just that its not spec specific anymore but baseline for all 3 specs? Anyone in alpha that can confirm?

No, they are now available to all specs actually. Read the “General Shaman Class Changes in Shadowlands”, on wowhead.

No, it’s just the resto-specific versions of the spells that are being removed since more things are being added baseline to all three specs.

And their class fantasy was soooo much better, wasnt it?

I can’t see them doing that. That would mean being forced to play as a dps when levelling.
