Shaman offensive abilities removed?

Don’t worry. They just removed the resto specific spells and added again the shaman generics

Guys guys…

Those abilities weren’t baseline, that means SPECLESS 120 shaman doesn’t have spell like Flame Shock.
Flame Shock was added to your spellbook once you chose elemental or restoration spec.

In Shadowlands, both ele and resto “lose” Flame Shock, but only because it will be baseline.

In other words, “In Shadowlands chosing elemental or restoration specialisation won’t add those spells to your spellbook”.

Yup this.

The first two images I linked were from the “Shaman” page of my spellbook, the last image from the Resto page. So instead of one page with all of your abilities, there are baseline pages, then spec specific pages. So they just “moved” the Flame Shock ability from the Resto build and added it to Shaman build as baseline.

Thank you

I would prefer if healers had no offensive spells at all.So you can monitor mobs for Purge/Dispels and possible buffs. The whole dps tool keep was mostly cause some people wanted to do dailys in Healing specks…

I just want to play my spec everywhere. Not only when i zone in an instance with other players.

I manage to heal, dps, purge, kick, stun, root and so on at the same time :woman_shrugging: its not like we forget the rest of our toolkit if we can weave in some dps.

The answer I was looking for, I think, is:

this. People saw spell ID being removed and jumped to conclusions without looking into it more.

I just thought it’s a bit weird to say that DPS abilities are being removed when there’s a wowhead article on the page that goes into detail about resto shaman dps spell efficiency which explicitly says that Flame Shock on resto does less damage than it does on DPS specs.

You used pretty simple logic and it worked better than 70 posts before, nice :+1:

Oh. Cool! Thanks

Well sorry guys it was 5 am and i just read the resto changes and the general changes confused me. Didnt want to make every resto shaman panic! Gonna delete this before it causes more trouble.

Edit: Can’t delete hm.

Rest shamans have aoe stun, aoe slow, tank elemental, movement while casting, infinite purge buffs and blood lust. So what if flame shock disappear

Cause we’re already one of the weakest healers for m+, it wouldnt make sense to remove our dps and let the other healers keep theirs. But it was a false alarm anyways, so no need to worry.

You’re not in mdi or world first mythic races what do u care? How does it affect you? It barely affects you. Especially when you are in a guild and /group and ur buddies would take u even if u were worse healing than anything else in the world. Tell your dps to use a battle potion to cover for your loss of dps

I’m not the only resto shaman out there :woman_shrugging:t3: And why do you care anyways?

Cuz it’s ridiculous complaint? The only spec that should do damage as healing is druids in shape shift, disc priests and maybe paladins as their original class was designed

yeah ofc, especially since u main resto druid and play hpala i guess :woman_shrugging: anyways, it was false news, we will still dps in shadowlands.
