Shaman tank spec with summonable shield

Why dont they just create a 4th spec for shaman called “breaker” or something?
Where you use 1h and the summon a big rock/earth shield, with different looks(which can be transmogged to regular shield)
Kind of the like the offhand doomhammer legion weapon for enhancement?
That would be awesome. It seems like such an easy implementation?

I would love an earth and magma themed shaman with two handed maces or axes. And pretty much you would give to yourself earth enhancements etc

You must be sad they added player housing or delves maybe you also was mad when they added Tmog or achievements , were you also saying “No to Evokers support 3rd spec”.

I really don’t get ppl with that attitude , don’t worry no one will force you to play it and don’t worry it won’t take from your spec balancing as it seems they even balance druids to a point when they get way more love then us when having 4 specs when their Tank and healing spec + boomy seems to be always viable in pvp and in pve load of times even more meta then any shaman spec.

Specs compete with eachother for a spot in groups.

If there is a Tank Shaman the chances of getting a spot as a Healer or DD shaman are greatly reduced. And vice-versa.

Why do you think nobody was playing Feral Druid these past seasons? Was it because it was bad? No it was not. It was actually good. But Dudus and Restos were better. That’s why.

Only ONE of those specs is viable at a time. And only ONE is the most viable. That’s what you dont get.

Take this season for example. Are guardians bad? Are dudus bad? No they are not. But Resto is better. So everyone plays a resto, and the chances of finding a spot as guardian are greatly diminished.

Yes I was. Because Augmentation Evoker is NOT a 4rth roll. Its a DPS. An OP DPS that forces everyone else to compete with him.

So it used to be that RShamans were good in DF. Better than RDruid. BUT… RDruid PLUS Aug Evoker was better than RShaman PLUS Aug Evoker.

So nobody wanted RShamans. Only RDruids.

Fun fact i suggest watching raids and how much they bring of the same specs when one is meta , adding tank won’t do anything , and yeah no one was playing feral because it performed way less then boomy dps , now if we want to follow your logic we should remove elemental or enhance so we won’t have 2 dps spec of same class not a different ROLE.

1 MotW PLUS 1 Skyfury buffs is better than having 2 MotW buffs, or 2 Skyfury buffs. Because they don’t stack.

Have you played M+ lately? When was the last time you have seen a Holy Paladin? Yeah… NEVER. Rets are good. And most importantly, Prot is meta. They wont invite in 1M years a Holy Paladin to a group with 2 paladins already (Prot+Ret). Not even for a +10. So nobody plays Holy.

Healers don’t compete with tanks as tanks don’t compete with dps spots its that simple , also your analogy is wrong they can bring always more of the same spec all it has to do with is their performence and balancing that’s why some specs are stacked and after 2 weeks another got 3-4 of them it always changes its not static .

We have a CLASS tree that we share. That is why its not ideal to bring 2 of the same class to a party.

ALL shamans have Skyfury (and cap totem, and kick, and poison, and dispel, ect…). And so would a hypothetical shaman tank.

HPala looses in what sense? Its perfectly fine as a healer. It can heal any key it wishes to heal. Its just not that busted to justify bringing a PPala, a Ret and a HPala.

So I go back. To have TWO of the same class, you need atleast one of them to be busted. And I am not talking about the 1%. I am talking about 7s, 8s, and 10s.

Look. This is KNOWN stuff since Vanilla. If YOU don’t know about this, then don’t blame me. Class Utility is a thing. And having UNIQUE utility is better than having doubles of the same. Because often times they dont stack, or stack badly.

Keys 7 to 9. FAR from the 0.5% as you claim. How many of them have a double class? And how curious that most groups with a Ret have a Warrior tank instead. And THE most popular comp by far has no repeated classes.

You can check ALL key levels. Even +10s and +2s… (which are super similar)… They all say the same thing: By FAR you have 1 class of each. Its super RARE to have double classes. Across ALL levels.

I mean… do you even play M+ TODAY or what? It sais here that with your shaman you have done a total of FOUR keys in the whole season. And haven’t cleared a single boss in normal mode. And that you spend your time playing Delves SOLO.

Tanks are barred from Arenas. And significantly nerfed in BGs and tank balance is horrendous (it’s been guardian OP since WotlK). AND they are the least played specializations in Blitz. Which are not required even for the match to start.

Well why are you then teaching me about pvp? you are more then welcome to check Tank’s rating in pvp , their roles in Blitz/rated bgs changed mostly in flag carrying maps used in 90% of the cases to Anticap or delay mid or control battle , not long ago Blood DK got nerfed because they could grip/CC all game 1 healer of enemy team and make him useless for the entire match.
Nowdays flag carrier is the most mobile/versitile class/spec which is usually evoker healer.
There is tanks above 2.4k in shuffle , especially more in blitz.

Ofc i belong in pvp and ofc i stay in pvp where scenarios and matches aren’t scripted to follow a pattern against NPC only after pvp i get 2.5k+ in M+ in 1-2 days for cute achievement and mounts to let the number go up as a collector :dracthyr_tea:

Lol that’s your most funny one , those guilds are only Mythic raiding focused guilds with reputation that are in the 0.1% , for one there is thousands of guilds that invite everyone of any skill Level which finds groups there to run on their set lvl who easily run +15s , as for my guild is focused on PvP it has ppl who casually do +15 when they are bored from pvp.

I gave you the statistics of the class diversity of groups for keys 7 to 9. And you see what you see.

But what about the comp: Ret, VDH, Fmage, DK, RShaman? That was was run 2.9% of the runs. What about the comp: MM, DH, DK? Well that one was run 3.3%…

You add them all up and you get 95% from the total.

And YES. Some have duplicates (like Fury + PWarrior). And you can simply do 95% - the % of duplicate comps and see what is ran the most: Duplicate comps or individual class comps.

Plus… Reddit and the forums are full of people complaining about tanks. FIRST: They are not that good because they take 75% more damage (according to them). SECOND: In the matchmaking algo, if one party has a tank, the match will not start until the other group also has a tank. Delaying matchmaking process. And people want this to change.

So whatever man… its clear as water that blizzard dosent care about tanks. And they dont want tanks to play PvP at all. And are sending you multiple signals to avoid people playing as a tank.

First of all there is no 1 tank that got above 2.4k there is hundres , secondly you need to understand how rating is calculated in blitz as the rating pool is coming from entire population of your Spec , the more ppl play the spec the higher and easier it will be to get 2.4k[for example] as you compete against your own spec and not “Overall rating pool” as in 3s or 2s .
You as PvE player know exactly how down the tank population number became and how hard it can be to find a tank for even M+ sometimes , so yes ofc it will be harder for least popular specs to compete with least popular specs in blitz/shuffle it will be the same as saying “Look there is only 6 ppl above 2.4k in rated bgs it must be trash roles” while its wrong and its because the bracket is basicly “Dead” , same here with tank their numbers go down as its least popular role to play in pve and pvp making it super hard to gain rating in shuffles/blitz .
Now lets get the numbers with your “Only 1 tank got 2.4k” [and lets get something ppl above 2.4k are on the same par as your M+20-21(731 groups across all regions) the 0.1% of the brackets]

  • 31 tank in eu blitz above 2.4k - with the highest being blood DKs as tanks role changed from soaking dmg to being CC machine or Mobile enough to kite groups when FC or Being able to easily anticap when being CCed yourself.
  • 36 tanks in us blitz above 2.4k
  • 228 tanks above 1.8k in eu blitz
  • 242 tank above 1.8k in us blitz

This is exactly why we need more tank specs/classes in game for people to encourage that Role with ppl liking set classes/themes , as example during season 2 i lvled a DH ofc for pvp but guildies that dinged and wanted to gear towards PvE i logged on the DH and tanked couple of low 2-3 keys for their freshly dinged greed geared alts because it was hard to find tanks , i would do it way more if i could simply switch to tanking spec on my main shaman.

Tanks belong everywhere in game be it pve [in your mind pve=M+ and raiding only as you imply] and in pvp , in all content .
Just because you think they are trash in pvp in set role to soak dmg like “Guard druids” doesn’t mean they are trash as in pvp their roles can differ from what you expect , take example Blood DK’s in blitz Gripping CCing and taking healers off the map “Hostages” for the whole match so the enemy team plays with 1 healer in team fights when the other one is in the corner of the map gotten stolen by Blood dk , or prot pally that has so much bubles for allies and magic immunities for allies that he is a hybrid of CC machine with Avanger shield silences and support with insane word of glory heals + giving bubles to allies x2 times more then Holy paladin.

Zero = 0 , but its a mistake i got 2.5k M+ achiv in each season for mounts/achievement as i also a collector , if i don’t spam same keys every week for whole season doesn’t mean i play “Zero” PvE , it simply means that i run it finish it for my goal and then i have no reason to continue doing it.

Already answered above and gave reason why i do care , also they belong in all aspects of the game as its an MMO and not M+ simulator fellowship , and who told you i don’t invite them or anyone into my guild? actually i invite ppl with 0 exp in pvp and we show em the ropes when they ask , i also invite ppl who play only PvE but also enjoy pvp , we are not strict on looking for only 1 kind of play , we even have ppl who played pvp their whole life but for some seasons did 90% only M+ , while the main focus of the guild is PvP we don’t see net negative in ppl joining to make M+ groups if that’s what they like.

Well we used to have only 2v2 and 3v3 and rated bgs which was hell to organize and was last played siriusly during Shadowlands season 2 but then started to die out , so yeah Shuffle helped at the end of SL a lot , and i do hope some kind of system like that will be intreduced for M+ for ppl who wish to just que up alone or with friends into it and have ability to vote to end the run if it goes horribly wrong that would fix a lot of the M+ group finding issues.
