I’ve been only in one other guild in my time in WoW, so I’m not sure if what I’m about to say is worthy for someone to leave or if I am overreacting. My previous guild was a small guild, (we had to pug to get a full raid group) and they taught me how to do things such as raiding and m+, but a month or so into Shadowlands a lot of people just did not come online for a while and eventually neither did the GM, so I dipped.
I joined my new guild looking for somewhere where I can raid with a full group and not have too much difficulty, and also a nice bunch of people. They are certainly very good and nice people. I’m now 9/10 heroic thanks to them.
The thing I’m worried about is this. Our schedule looked like this, Thursday night was a mythic nathria group (which I am not a part of) Sunday night heroic, Monday night doing any heroic bosses left. I was all good with that, until the other night. It was Monday so the last night of raid, and we almost had Sire, we were so so close but it got too late and we called it. Then the next night I go online to see them in Castle Nathria again, so I asked if there were any free spaces and they said that it is the mythic group only. Mythic group only for a heroic boss, that we were close to killing last night anyways. Bear in mind all the people in the mythic group already have curved , and alot of other people in the guild do not. So they are taking the progress we did those nights to sire and doing him without us? I’m perfectly fine not being part of the mythic group, but how is it fair that the it’s mythic group only for a heroic boss? I really want to get curved, but now I’m not sure if that’s possible if my guild is going to exclude people like this. The raiding days are changing now too, with Sunday being heroic Shriek, Sludge, Stone legion, and then sire, and then Monday the mythic only group doing sire if we haven’t killed him yet. But with the time it will take to get to sire and then attempt to kill it, it probably wont happen. Do other guilds do this? Or should I go and find another guild? Aswell as this no one ever want’s to do keys unless they know the person personally and they’re good friends. I ask in Guild chat if anyone wants to do my +14 and no one responds.
Perhaps talk things out to the GM and officers rather than see a forum response. Though I cannot imagine any guild GM would be pleased to see this laid out for all intents and purposes. Seek for a resolution first.
If you don’t like the changes they are making to the raids, it’s best to move on and find somewhere you can raid and do content you want to enjoy on days you can raid.
You could also join a key community, that way you’ll have far more people to do keys with. My guild is very hit and miss with keys, everyone started off super keen now they don’t want to do them so much. I’ve done more with friends and pugs this week.
Maybe because the DPS was not high enough to kill him. That’s why they picked top dpsers in the guild to have the kill.
By looking at your normal and heroic logs, it seems your dps is not that strong for some reason. It is the time for you to maximize your dps to have a solid spot in the roster.
Good luck man… It is a learning curve for all of us.
Short answer - yes.
Long answer - you can try to make a 2nd raid for heroic so that you don’t depend on the mythic raid to get it, but that’s a lot of responsibility and not an easy task.
I am officer of a guild who is doing mainly mythic at the moment and carrying the other guildies from the “non core” raid on Sunday nights in Heroic and on the first 2 bosses on Mythic. When things get very difficult and we are wasting a lot of time to kill what for us is a simple boss, we replace low dps and failers to make the rest of the group progress. It’s frustrating to wipe 100 times on a boss especially when it has been done so many times and explained over and over.
I understand where you coming from because the game and the other players got very demanding but I do understand your GM’s choices.
Kick a few for the good of the rest of the guild.
I would anyway talk privately so for the next lockout you can keep a space even if you guys get in the same situation.
I make the group myself and every week we take new people to do their first kills on the bosses that we have on farm
to be honest, i would talk about with your raidlead/gm first before taking any action.
in my opinion, its normal that people get replaced or drop out, however, what i find impolite is when you replace or bench them without letting them know. thats just a poor attitude and unacceptable.
Well try and sort things with your guildmaster see if you can progress with this guild if not, just leave there is nothing wrong, maybe they don’t like you? and even if thats the case its nothing wrong, don’t feel bad and move on at this moment nathria is the only raid so you still have time to progress, with your current guild they are stalling your progress and eventually would just let you down at some point, moving on is good!
As someone who’s on your realm, I feel for you. Our realm’s a weird one, medium pop but with only a few serious Alliance guilds with the rest struggling to take off.
Whatever you decide to do, I’d advise you to be as polite as you can and never burn any bridges. Guild hopping until you find a home that suits you is understandable and no one holds that against you, so long as you remain kind and polite in all your interactions and leave a good impression if you can.
Oh, and don’t make any rash decisions without looking at what guilds are available. There are very few guilds on our realm that can even reach heroic Sire as of right now, compared to say, Silvermoon.
So, your complaining because your guilds mythic progression group went for a quick reclear of sire?
This for real? Your talking about leaving because a totally different raidteam did a boss you need and didn’t get an inv? Are people actually this entitled.
Just because its the progression team that doesn’t mean they can’t hit up sire if someone needs loot…
Guilds having a mythic progression group and a heroic group for less experienced is very common. That doesn’t mean the mythic group cant smash a sire kill out…
If yes, it looks like they effectively replaced the lower dps in favor of higher dps, so they could get curve.
See what they’re planning to do next time. If they plan to organize a rotation so lower dps get curve next time, you may find that ok.
If not… Well, you can consider you won’t progress anymore with that guild.
