Should I take day off for early access first day?

Dear fellow gamers,

I have been playing wow since roughly 2007 and usually when new expansion launches, the first day, or the first few days, are usually barely playable.

This has improved over the years, but I still remember taking day off to play on the way when expansion launches, just not to be able to play at all.

I am wondering, although I guess no one can know for sure, do you think this time with this early access and improved technology overall, wow will be playable on 22nd, when it’s early access? I am considering to take day off and enjoy it slowly, else I will only be able to do it in the evenings, when kids are put to sleep. Which equates to around 1h of playing.

I want to go old school and play wow whole day.

What are your thoughts on this matter?

Regards,
Imm

22nd is Thursday and it releases that night / into Friday morning.

If you take any day off it should be Fri the 23rd not the 22nd.

…see if this helps - for me it would be 11pm in the UK, so I’m leaving it till Friday 23rd :+1:

I usually play through the night on the first day and I love that. Everyone always compains about launches but honestly, in my recollection, they’ve been fine except Draenor where you couldn’t build your Garrison because of a bug.

No, calling in sick just for screen time is silly. have days off for holidays or something.

Haha, I usually do the same. But yeah…draenor was a trainwreck…for a whole week at least from what I remember.

Unless you have something to gain from playing on day one, I’d rather take a day off on any other day. If you just want to have fun a relax for a day, might as well do it on a day when everything’s not on fire.

Nobody said this?

how else would you have a day off?

Put a days leave in / take leave in lieu of overtime / change shift pattern / accelerate a pregnancy for maternity leave just to name a few.

Never play on patch day or release week

valid answer, but I still think its a bad idea. for all we know this dude might be the 1% that can´t log in cause game issues.

Better you couldnt take day off for this.
Since what if game crash for bad luck.

I had early access and I’m still work on friday. But later early at home

Nope, chances are it’s going to be messy, earn that cash and play after work, save your days off for something proper

servers will be down, laggy as hell, queues up the wazoo, buggy as all bonk, one thousand people running around killing quest mobs… sure sounds good way to spend day off

never take day off for first day after launch

if anything take if for like 2nd or 3rd day .

its always the same server / log in issues every single time.

in our corporation we have also "1 day extra off (paid ) withotu stating any reason "

its a nice bonus usefull for such ocasions :P:P

Depends on you. The only time I took a day (actually 5) off was for Skyrim release.

Still not regretting it to this day, would do it again.

I always play on launch night, it’s fabulous mostly.
