I think it boils down to personal opinion…
I prefered the Nathrezim as Demons
The little lore in Legion just enriched their lore when Portal Keeper Hasaber mentioned their home world - hinting they may be once like the Eredar and truned bad
“Nathreza… once a world of magic and knowledge, now a twisted landscape from which none escape.”
Shadowland butchered it, making them exiles/agents of the realm of death…
Now what are they?
Creatures of the Death Realm who are like some sponge-like Elf able to absorb energies left and right and become Light infused infiltrators or Fel gorged Demons?
The whole SL is a mess and personally would rather forget it

Maybe your right. There’s nothing saying nathereza isn’t a realm in the shadowlands making both versions cannon.
Except the “old lore” of game and novel information that stated Nathreza was their homeworld now located in the Twisting Nether, sinking in there like Draenor and Argus

Maybe it started in the sl and ended up in the nether due to magics used. The twisting nether is another realm too right?
Yes, absolutely erase everything. Nothing was good about it, nothing can be salvaged.
No, because most ppl who find it so horrible are actually just happy to bash blizzard for some reason and haven’t even bothered with actually looking at the lore in detail.
Or they were unhappy that the story didn’t turn out the way they would have liked it, forgetting the game & its story doesn’t belong to them and they just have to deal with what the producers decide is going to happen.
If SL failed in one thing, it was making the lore easily understandable to players unwilling to read quest texts and flavour text or novels; but then again, people being unwilling to read and invest time into their lazy entertainement is a problem that exists elsewehere too (books getting replaced by audio books or just not net getting read anymore).
Shadowlands lore in canon d major what?
The “some” reason is that Shadowlands lore is terrible.

Ardenweald could stay since it’s decently connected to the emerald dream.
Rest has to go.
Too much of SL’s lore was a clear case of “We enjoyed this thing, buuut can make something cooler!” The brokers were just fancy etherials and shapers, ancient ones or whatever were just titans x^2, ardenweald might as well have been the emerald dream.
Leaving the three other misshapen realms that did nothing but bastardize already established lore and concepts.
It’s funny really… SL would probably have been better received had we not been in the afterlife but instead various planets that had been hooked up to Argus once.
I may not have liked being tied to specific covenants to be effective however I loved adored Revendreth and the Venthyr.
Give it time and people will be saying positive things about SL, just like they do every other expansion that is criticised. People aren’t going to like every expansion. Just one of those things. I quite enjoyed WoD on the whole yet people complain like mad about that one.
SL, really feels like a special case where this won’t happen. Not only was the story bad, but it was also way too detached from the rest of warcraft.
Like it would have made more sense to have the hearthstone expansion where Ragnaros returns… again, as canon than that of SL.

People complained like mad about Pandaria back in the day cos Pandas. BfA even sees the odd praise at times.
The only expansion that made me quit most of it was Cataclysm. So I find it hard to say anything positive about that one even this far into the expansions.
Remeber WoD that say’s hello.
Pandaria was still very much warcraft and had an okish plot. Only issue was peoples insistence on treating it as a joke because pandas.
And cata was great save for the cut content. As for the dungeon difficulty, they should have looked into reducing their length/duration than to trivialize it. Not fun with those 2+hours troll pugs. (Especially not when a guild group started kicking people in the end.).
Only thing WoD was missing (outsdie of the cut content) was a tiny lore comment that whatever Kairoz did, damaged the bronze flight in such a way that it wouldn’t happen again in our life-time.
All I’m saying is no you can’t erase stuff cos you personally didn’t like it. People all have their own likes and dislikes.
I don’t see any difference between the SL hate and the MoP hate. There is always someone hating on something. People hated on the time travel alternate universe in WoD etc etc. You can pretty much pick any expansion and people will have hated on something. That’s not reason to remove it.
Some don’t even like DF and I love it.
No, Shadowlands lore is okay, what isn’t okay is main story, but world building wise it’s fine.
Metzen’s judging by his tweets really digs SL lore BTW

Complete erasure? No, but to retcon it out of the plot is very much possible.
