Should Shadowlands lore be canonically erased?

Everyone seems to agree that it was lame and ruined several other storylines retroactively.

Should Blizzard delete the entire Shadowlands expansion, making it impossible to visit, and maybe put all cosmetics and appearances on a vendor somewhere?
This will obviously never happen but honestly, if I were in charge, that’s what I would do.

hmmm…

No strong opinion at the moment.
I’m right now playing the storyline of Shadowlands in my free moments to actually understand what has happened there. So far I’m still…okay with everything going on.

That said, retcons don’t have to be a bad thing as they can also fix a lot of issues in the overall Lore. I have more an issue with a lot of Lore existing outside of the game instead of inside the game.

no while it had issues some was good. sire and the dreadlords imo

The neat thing about erasing the entire lore of an expansion is that you can still keep the good bits and reintroduce them later in the story, WITHOUT all the garbage surrounding them.

I’m really not okay with trivializing the very concept of Death.
That’s a pretty major thing to ruin in my book.

The concept of death?
How we constantly popped back into existence because of a spirit healer conveniently located at every graveyard?

In a world that allows mass-ressurection of armies?
Where healers can resurrect the fallen?

The concept of death has always been very inconsequential in the Warcraft universe unless you’re a nobody.

This obviously exists for gameplay reasons only. It’s pretty obvious that anyone dying in the “real” Azeroth can’t just run back to their corpse and be fine, like Mankirk’s wife.

And Shadowlands filled in the lore there that they are Kirian’s guiding the spirits of the death if their time has come, or restore them back to life if their time hasn’t come.

Which is a good retcon of the lore for “Death”

I would erase the story but not the content

Shadowlands was just a collective fever dream we had.

Thankfully you are not in charge because SL did have some good questing in some zone’s, all you do honestly is bash the game and its tiresome seeing so much negative thoughts on the forums.

Yes it should. Like the Romans deleted their crazy emperors long time ago, Blizzard should delete that expansion and make it like it never happened.

Completely inaccurate statement.
I’ve expressed many times that I’m currently enjoying the game a lot:

Please stop spreading misinformation.

5 threads out of hundreds you have done.

Yes.
The other ones are mostly genuine suggestions and commentary on class design.
The will to improve the games comes from a place of love. Again, you saying that “all I do is bash the game” is wrong. Please apologize for being incorrect.

You cant force an apology and especially not to you but i will leave the thread now as its obvious only your view is correct which is not btw.

Like Garrosh disenchanting himself?

Only if we can erase everything done to Star Wars and Lord of the Rings in the last 10 years of media.

Shadowlands, like most xpacs, has good and bad to it. There’s some I’d keep, and a lot I’d throw out. I’d keep the idea of sylvanas breaking the sky because that IS a fascinating opener… then I’d throw out everything else. Because it was nonsense that A) didn’t captalise on what had happened and B) made everything before it not make a lick of sense anymore.

Fair point. However I feel like they’ll address sl somehow in midnight
