The answer is obviously yes.
The sole purpose of forums is to allow people to communicate. Private messages complete the package.
And for the grumpy people who don’t want to make friends, you can have a tick box to refuse DMs, like you can on Reddit for example.

My currently best friend. I met online… He has visited me in real life and is coming over again in febuary. Another friend of mine met his current wife trough Wildstar.
I am sorry you haven’t met anyone you feel like a fren yet online. But you absolutely can make friends for life online.
I think we give moderators enough of a workload already without adding private messaging into the mix.
People can exchange bnet tags, discord etc. I’ve made friends via the forums. Didn’t need a messaging system here to do it.

The volume of flagged posts they have to deal with is large. I’d rather they had time to moderate the forums than some personal mail system that can easily be done elsewhere and is used by most gamers already.

I doubt a private message feature will ever happen Gram… truth be told. I am not all opposed to the idea… But like puny said. That will add just another layer of messages the mod team will have too moderate.

Which doesnt mean anything as i dont think forum bans are automated. Ive seen mods unflag posts they deem fine and ban/delete posts that weren’t even flagged.
Its microsoft that owns the purse and they never spend money on admin staff for forums.
