Should WARLOCKS get a HEALING specialization?

I personally do not see this be compatable with the lore in any way shape or form
fel is used to drain life, I don’t see you transferring that life which was drained with fel to another without exposing them to the same fel used to drain and move that life energy around
They’d practically be corrupting their ‘patients’ until they turned into demons

No thanks.

Warlocks by their very nature are one of the least healy classes you could’ve picked.

Hard no.

Which would make for incredible visuals and interesting gameplay.

you can’t undemon yourself, it would make for bastardisation of existing lore
my personal take is there’s enough of that going on already

Metamorphosis is temporary.

As someone who’s interested in creating a story around her toon and tries to consume as much lore as possible: no, thanks.

I’d expect Death Knights pumping blood magic in me to heal my wounds before I’d consider a power hungry fel infested creep to try to do anything around me. It’s just… no :face_holding_back_tears:

No. The warlock is literally destruction, rot, decay, and murder in a package.

In lore Demon Hunters are demons who hunt the legion. Yes, they do transform, but they remain demons, which is why they get wings and horns and so on.

This is a great idea to be honest. Sounds like it would be sort of like Moira from Overwatch. A spec that has to damage and drain enemies to charge up it’s healing abilities.

Mostly a gameplay design over lore thing.
I dont know if I’m giving off the vibe that you will change my mind on this, I think warlock healing is silly on a level so fundamental I am stuck in my ways.

No i give out healthstones because it helps me and i don’t want to heal anyone if it effects my dps we want to bring pain not help.

It already happened though.

Tbh, I’m having a really hard time getting in to the 3 first wings of LFR, unless: I play a tank (which is almost immediate), followed by a Healer.
I understand that people are doing higher content now, but I’m still having fun in this 3 first LFR wings, since I only recently finished leveling my 25 characters to level 70.
I wish in the future pure DPs classes could, I don’t know do some off tanking, off healing, just to be able to enter in instances that are overcrowded with DPS.
Ofc this wouldn’t work for Mithic content or anything higher than, LFR and LFD, but still it would help a lot for players like me as the time, I have available, for this game isn’t much.

For example:
Hunter: Merge with Pet and Tank. Similar to a Guardian Druid but not as viable.
Rogue: Tank. Dodge and feint all the time. Not as viable as in example a DH.
Mage: Healer. Basically casting shields and barriers all the time. Priests are still better.
Warlock: Turn in to a demon and Tank. DH is still better.

Just something a LFR or LFD group can use to solve a momentary problem in order to prevent people from wasting their time. You never know when you actually have an experienced player, that mains a Tank or a Healer, amongst your LFD/LFR group, that can’t jump and help because he’s playing a pure DPS class.

Cheers.

I believe baby trall died. He just used a soulstone

It’s almost funny how much this simple phrase puts me on edge. The assumption you’re watching netflix or something and apparently don’t give a damn about people’s healthbars instead of you not being capable of healing for pretty good reasons is so demoralising. I love healing. The place I enjoy it best these days is in epic bg’s because usually noone gripes. Ugh.

Imagine a support warlock with group wide soulstone, group teleport, low CD on gate, fel steroid modifiers, where you can drain life from enemies to then channel it to allies, so they get stronger and heal up while doing so. I think the concept of taking life force from enemies and giving it to allies is almost a “must-have” for warlocks imo

I guess you don’t know what fel actually is, lorewise?

Warlocks are more than just fel weavers lore wise. And yeah: I know it corrupts, etc. However, we eat healthstones… Thinking about gul’dan and the story of orcs draining life to empower allies seems like a completely clear warlock fantasy aspect…

For me it’s more the mental image of Illidan in… War of the Ancients I think? where he sucks the life out of his fellow mages to empower himself. DH support spec, kill your party and go Fel Super Saiyan.

No the fel power is used to drain life force from a friendly that dies and use it to revive a friendly. You cant drain a life force of a demon to heal a friendly.

If i could kill a friendly to res a friendly that would be as close as could get as a warlock and tap some of the power in the process.

Warlocks are selfish power hungry corrupts thats their whole ethos. They live on the outskirts of society and only group because it benefits their own goals.
