First of all there has always been literally zero valid reasons for guild names not to be shown in default tooltips. Secondly, there is then the API to do so, what’s the point of this? Last but not least, with todays standards in screen size and resolution, it’s unnecessarily tough to read a guild name in the 3D world.

It was reproduced as it was in vanilla. You can always find an addon which adds that information.
And what is the rationality beyond this? I mean, we talk about user interface, not game mechanics. And UI already saw several improvements (fortunately), so blindly carrying a flaw from 15 years ago, only because it had been poorly designed back then does not sound too smart to me.
We needed an addon to show chat timestamps too, but now they are in the default interface. So point is invalid.

Classic is a vanilla reproduction, including UI. Didn’t you notice that developers reworked almost all BfA interface?
Ask developers to remove those.
Then you did not notice they reworked a lot of the vanilla interface too. They clearly confirmed it’s rationally deficient to expect flaws to be willfully reproduced as is.
Why would I? That was one of the aforementioned intelligent choices.
I actually found myself missing this feature, and thought I just couldn´t figure out how to enable it in the Interface. It would be nice to be able to see, I agree.

Leatrix Plus Classic has an option to include guild names it in the tooltip. You just have to reload the UI, once you enable it, then you will be able to customize the tooltip into including what you want it to show.
The next AddOn should do the same, however, I have not tried this myself.

I didn’t know of these specific two. I have been using a EnhancedTooltip addon, but every of them had some features which I didn’t like (e.g tooltip being forced at cursor coords instead of default position). I ended up making my own one, under the enemy portrait. I just do not see the logic of not showing such information, but leaving the API to do it; with the aggravating of average screens not rendering in 800x600 anymore.

We have up to date graphics.
A dismount button for FPs.
A receive all button for mailboxes.
The “authentic Vanilla experience” bubble has already burst, this is a simple tooltip that displays someone’s guild name, there is no reason not to just add it.
