I would say the ‘silent majority’ go with the flow, hence silence. They either join in on whatever the future gives, or quit.

100% agree. Make tbc a choice. If you force it I, and many others, will just leave.
We left retail for a reason.
Solution is easy. Very easy. Who wants Classic, can stay on certain servers.
Who wants TBC can move. For free.
When someone wants to move from Classic to TBC after time, should pay transfer.
So it would sort alot. Half empty servers would merge for both TBC and Classic.

I’d say 90% of my guild is looking forward to TBC and quite a few are already preparing for it (alts to make new mains, mats for profession switching/leveling, etc.). Must be a very silent majority…
Classic servers will remain, without a doubt, but they’ll need a reset and start from scratch anyway at some point as nobody is going to stay in Naxx forever. With this in mind, I’d say evolve current Classic servers to TBC, just like originally and make some fresh Classic only servers for that audience.
I think it should be the other way round, you get automatically moved to TBC unless you choose to move to a Classic realm BEFORE TBC starts, afterwards there is no transfer, even paid. But the way I think it will work is All realms get upgraded to TBC and you get a new Classic realm or two, no transfers.

Of course it makes sense, just like the first time around, every realm gets moved on to TBC and few more new realms get added for Classic this time.
You are not guaranteed to get any Classic realms at all. That’s just people assuming we will.

Lets just wait and see before coming to any conclusions.
All of the following depends on whether they do indeed keep Classic servers and make your character transferable to a TBC server…
I also hope they keep at least a few of the Classic servers open, and simply merge servers. Will it jumble the server communities up? Yeah sure, but the fact is A LOT of your current server communities will transfer to TBC anyway, so you’ll lose them either way. You might as well have your server merged with a couple of others to keep Classic server population high.
To be honest, I may even stay on Classic servers once TBC is released, depending on whether I get my full T3 or not. If I get my T3 then yeah I’m gonna jump ship to TBC. I don’t really like paying a subscription and being stuck doing the same content if I’ve cleared it multiple times before and I have most of the loot that I need, including full T3.
I’ve said it on another thread: Classic will always be the best version of WoW from a gameplay, storyline etc. perspective (imo), but once we’ve cleared all the raiding content then there’s really not much else left for PvErs to do, honestly. You can PvP til you’re blue in the face, but I’m not interested in it at all. Classic+ would have been the best if it were the old dev team, but alas it isn’t.
I never got a chance to experience TBC, so this time I can bathe in all its glory!
They kinda promised Classic is here to stay. I don’t think they’ll break this promise.
When both Classic and TBC exist, we can see what the “silent majority” wants.
The “silent majority” will probably want WOTLK then.

Just wanna say that if TBC overwritten classic I will stop playing all together. I know there is a lot of people like me that would be very happy to sub for many years with just one forever classic server.
Now I don’t think this is a majority but why not keep one forever classic server and see what happens, what’s the issue with that 
From just chatting in guild chat or LFG I have found that an overwhelming majority (>90%) want TBC to happen.

I support TS , TBC is a great addon but it is another WoW, and if blizzard will roll this way we all know where it will end up - retail. i dont want to play cata or pandaria again, this is not WoW, and there is a lot of people who enjoy classic in exact way like TS described. if you dont know them - doesnt mean they are not exists. remember how few years ago people was yelling “no one will play vainalla” , then after classic release people yelled " they will play for few months" etc, same goes here. Just imagine that Blizzard will continue develop what was abandoned in classic - emerald drim , Hidjal and other things what was abandonned, imagine another WoW what can be there , instead of simplifying things making existing better.
