Well that just makes everything pointless, doesn’t it? You claim to be an RP’er yet you want this game to feel like an excel spreadsheet simulator.
There’s not any point at all if they tell me “oh lorewise this city belongs the Alliance/Horde… but you can do whatever you want.” Oh ok… let me just project my imagination so hard that I am physically unable to press the buttons required to enter a place where lorewise I wouldn’t be able to go.
No, how about you enforce those things in-game and show me that this is a ROLE PLAYING GAME where the zones, the cities, the races, the faction MATTER.
Blizzard has been making this game less RPG friendly and they have forgotten that part of the “MMORPG” genre. This tells me they are actively listening.
Am I getting less places to explore as my Alliance player? Yes, of course. That’s why I’ll make a Horde character that has their own story and their own place in the world. You know, just like in most RPG’s.
Oh please. Horde isn’t able to freely walk around in Stormwind, Ironforge, Teldrassil or the Exodar either. But I don’t hear anyone talking about that either.
I want to be a hero of Azeroth.
I don’t care if I’m with the alliance or horde. I like them both.
I am special. We all are. We have helped save the world (and other worlds) numerous times.
And we’re still mistrusted by ‘the other side’?? That’s just the stupidest writing ever.
Yeah I saw that. It makes no sense. When have they ever went back and done something like that? How would that affect anything? Any new character you make would still have the city neutral. Most people that don’t do the campaign after the expansion would have that city neutral, how would it even work? It would be completely pointless to do that.
So we can get a bigger hub next time with the Horde getting a smaller one. Balance.
The factions are one of the core concepts of this game that a lot of people are invested in. I understand liking both or feeling like you’re mostly neutral, but some people care deeply about it. Like I said before, if they allow Horde in Darnassus I’d be pissed. I don’t care who it is.
So if the horde would have only been able to have a tiny little embassy in Dalaran and be killed on sight in the rest of the city, you would have been okay with that as a horde player?
Don’t kid anyone… No you wouldn’t. You would have complained about it.
And alliance players are rightfully complaining about this.
Didn’t know know Dalaran was a major alliance city like Stormwind, Ironforge, Teldrassil or the Exodar. I’m pretty sure many of you would complain if the Horde was able to freely walk in any of those. Dalton, Gilneas and Bel’ameth don’t compare to the original 4 major faction cities, to claim otherwise is disingenuous.
Oh I don’t know, the fact Horde characters and Alliance characters work together since quite a while now and are on good terms ?
Horde characters helping Anduin in Harrowfall’s questline and more ?
Calia & co (cheesy but still a move toward peace)
Blood elves asking for help from Azeroth champions (oh no they are from both factions!!)
No action from either side that would create hostility, no war move to conquer/destroy the other.
The whole story arc being about defending and protecting Azeroth as one, not as a divided group.
You are literally forced to be at peace and play the part and yet you scream Faction conflict while nothing pushes for it because it has been drained, overused, is dull as hell and needlessly separates the playerbase (in an old MMO that needs to retain players). Meanwhile any new half-decent MMO doesn’t go with factions because they know the problems it will create.
And since it takes less effort to make zones and questlines for both factions, Blizzard is going with it since it’s more time efficient.
I don’t have to. And I was pretty annoyed about that. How is making Silvermoon neutral going to solve this issue? They should be going back and making Bel’ameth Alliance only if anything.
