Skinning Devilsaur cause griefing and bad behavior

Pretend leaving and then sneak back in as dudu/rogue/invisibility potion and loot the mob and quickly skin before the random dude realises that you’re already there and inside boss corpse looting.

Also autolooter addon can probably help tons with super fast skinning. Also, you could have a buddy at hand, pass the loot, let the other person not skinner loot the mob in your party and spam click the mob on your own. Or possibly ungroup and have your friend tag the devilsaur for loot so you have the skin pointer ready to skin asap, not sure if skinning tooltip appears if passing on loot.

I’m also not sure if trading/dueling would interrupt skinning in process. Worth a test. It’s a distraction if nothing else.

I’d argue that this is griefing and not just harassment

And I’d argue it’s just a person trying to steal from another, which is neither griefing nor harassment.

Those people should be blacklisted and called out, but that’s about all that can be done against them. Calling for bans on someone for trying to get your ore, herb or skin is just butthurt on maximum overdrive.

Many of us warned of this issue, but people here, who haven’t played this version of the game, or haven’t for many years, said it wouldn’t happen on a Blizzard server…well here it is folks.

Well if the person is targeting mobs YOU kill and only you, I’d argue that this is using in game mechanics to troll someone. Which I think constitutes griefing.

It’s pretty bad either way, but I do believe that this sort of behaviour should be reportable

2 second grace period should be for skinning that in those 2 second only the looter can start skinning. after that it is FFA as normal.

If a mob is looted, it can be skinned. It’s as simple as that.

This is actually a great idea.

Yes but if they’re targeting mobs that only you fight and they’re specifically after your mobs it still constitutes griefing.
Im not arguing how skinning works darling.

If they’re specifically after your mobs, then you must be a pretty good Devilsaur hunter. I doubt the person is targeting your mobs because they dislike you and want to grief you. Chances are he’s just trying to steal from you. That’s not griefing.

One idea that comes to mind is a cross-faction hunting party. Basically, if someone from your faction tries to do it, your friend just attacks them.

Great idea but not easily executable on a PvP realm with faction locked accounts. Should have an IRL/bnet crossfaction friend for that

Yeah, that’s what I’m implying as well. I already have several such friends. When you’re both friends, but you’re vehement about your faction choice, this is what happens.

No changes buddy.

It just doenst exist because… Layering is sh*t

Topic starter is right.
Skinning should be available only for:

  1. Player who tagged mob.
  2. For a group who tagged mob.

I’m sorry but that’s just not going to happen.

This here is the only good idea that I saw in this thread so far. Everything else is a “no”.

hire someone from other faction and get them ganked :sunglasses:

In stealing they’re actively trying to ruin your experience. It’s greifing lol.
Griefing refers to the act of a player ruining the gaming experience of another player on purpose.

You’re misunderstanding. When someone steals, they are not trying to make your life more miserable. They are trying to make their life easier. The first is griefing. The second is not.

If this was griefing, then it would be someone specifically chasing you and you alone for the sole purpose of stealing your devilsaur leather and make you feel miserable.

I understand your frustration, but ninjaing devilsaur skins and griefing are not always the same thing, and so the first cannot be punished like the second can.

In much the same way, a high level player will not get punished for camping Redridge.

Well an average person would clearly be able to see that by doing so they’re ruining your gameplay experience on purpose.
It doesn’t matter if they’re trying to make their life easier or not. It’s still griefing lol. Following you around and trying to steal resources you’ve worked for all day is griefing.

Except that in a pvp server this is acceptable, and if a member of the opposing faction comes up to you and kill you or is trying to take your resources that’s fine.
The problem is when it’s the same faction, that’s where the line is drawn.

Also I’m not farming these things or anything, I’m just saying this constitutes griefing similar to how ninja looting constitutes griefing.
