Are other people experiencing a slow delay when performing certain actions?
Looting for example doesn’t seem to be as instantaneous as I remember, theres a handful of mods circulating which are related to looting speed so I imagine a few people have noticed this too.
Since hitting 24 though, I’ve noticed execute also seems to have this delay. It’s almost like a half second buffer before the server notices my enemy is within execute range. It’s not the GCD either, before someone suggests that.
I believe that is the “Batching” issue. Its not an MS Thing, server just registers your actions with a small delay to recreate the “vanilla” like feeling.
I believe this is intentional by design. Could be wrong, but i don’t think so. For execute and spells i am certain, that small delay is intended.
Looking at old videos of classic executes don’t align with that, you can for example look at the Maydie video and see the little section at the start where “execute” and you will notice the instant his white attack lands that brings the target sub 20, the execute follows immediately. The videos also align with my personal memory of vanilla. Although memories aren’t flawless, various videos seem pretty conclusive.
I mean obviously I could be wrong but I don’t think this is a batching issue. Certainly doesn’t “feel” like it (for whatever that is worth)
there is simulated batching. but they’ve def done it wrong… instead of adding priority to spells like it used to be. they’ve put EVERY action under batching, be that interacting with items, using abilities and even autoattack
its causing serious issues with say cheapshot, causing you to instantly evisc if you have it on the same key and you click twice even before the bar switches.
its because they’ve blanket “batched” everything, even autoattack… this batching is a simulation and does not work like it used to in vanilla.
There are so many things wrong with this game, but people are so busy brownnosing a billion dollar company that they don’t care that its a worse experience, and gameplay is way different because of it
Warriors rely on sniping mobs in pve with execute for their damage, and in pvp to finish off targets. With the half-second delay before your client notices that the target is in execute range, you can’t really snipe anymore. As has been mentioned by others, this is not how it was in vanilla. Batching is clearly not implemented the way it used to be.
There should, I assume, be a delay between you using execute and the damage being applied to the target - but there should not be a delay between your client registering the target being under 20% health, and your client registering execute being usable.
