a week later and game is still poop, i mean … what are those guys they getting paid for? expansion by expansion, month by month, year by year, they just become more and more lazy. no excuses, nothing, there is focking ptr there for months, “testing” and “fixing”. is just disgusting. every time expansion or patch comes, we hope “not yet” cuz we will have to deal with that clownfiesta stuff.
im just a noob tech, or noob, or w/e you wanna call me, i have no clue to do all those craps ppl suggest. i just wanna the damn game i like… but like that, ppl … damnit… feels like is last expansion… this crap is beta since his release…
I uninstalled the whole thing yesterday from my HDD and installed it on my SSD. The problem has totally gone but I like to keep the SSD purely for Windows. Until the update last week there was no problem so it is not fair to expect customers to have to change their equipment when it is Blizzards fault.
Forums: 8.2.5 is broken.
Blizzard: Blizzcon Tickets!
I’ve had 3 hotfixes drop so far, or well, small mini patches on my Bnet, none of them changed anything, if this doesn’t fix by next week it’s gonna be an issue.
Keeping hotfix/tooltip on read-only still fixes everything for people, perhaps instead of releasing multiple hotfixes, fix something with these files, as it’s a clear sign THESE are the ones causing issues. The fact that people from Reddit have found this solution more quicker than Blizz themselves is just bad, I’m fine with issues for about 2-3 days, but we’re about to have a reset, that’s an entire week of issues.
For wow ? No. I have Fallout 4 in my 1 SSD drive and some other things on other drives. I mean … the old drive is fine for anything and everything wow does - except writing a singular (and seemingly useless) log file. I think it is not enough reason to replace drives on a system. It is like saying - they do a mistake and I have to pay money for it. How about they learn to code and fix the issue. I am not going to re-install game on SSD just because Blizzard cannot code the game to read ONE log file. ONE! Otherwise game runs fine on 120 fps and max graphics, no lag etc. But oh my- it cannot read a log file. Nonsense.
I think you misunderstand me. I am not saying it’s our fault for not having state of the art SSDs to play from. I’m simply just pointing out possible reasons why there hasn’t been a permanent fix from Blizzard yet.
Facts are, if hardware in any way plays a role in a problem, it makes fixing the problem externally that much harder. I’m not saying our hard drives are the cause of the bug, but it is the reason why we are experiencing it and others are not. The bug exists for everyone, but the problem does not.
Now the good news are, Blizzard has said they think they know what is going on and is working on it. But it might take a while to get it just right. You should expect a few hotfix patches regarding the issue before it is actually solved as they will actually have to see the effects of what they come up with before they know if it works or not.
Just to be sure - I am not mad at you. You have been kind enough to help me and others. It is just frustrating mentality many companies have - saying you should consume and throw away perfectly fine working product so you’d consume more. Prime example of this is how Apple/Samsung slowed their phones down or how windows 10 started to claim hardware is broken while it was not and when you reverted updates hardware was fine again. It is this consume-spend-spend-spend corporate mentality. Yes, our tech gets older. But When I look into my CPU+gpu combo and how game performs in it I have 0 complaints. Wow runs as smooth as ever. But now with the patch somehow Blizzard thought they know, but they clearly did not - to quote their own meme line “you think you do, but you don’t”.
Yes, it maybe low priority fix for them, but lets compare this low priority lock up issue with drop of water. You hear one drop fall. Nothing. You hear two and even enjoy the sound. But dripping water is one of the most efficient torturing and interrogation techniques. And so here we get to a lock-up, and avoiding use of quick log in via bnet, or whatnot work around every day and eventually you stare your screen and just go do something else. Because the drop of water will get to you as will the minor tasks you do every time you start game, or the minor lock ups every time you loot or interact with things.
They may see it as minor issue to look into, but lets see after anniversary event how minor the sub drop contribution it might be.
Just to say again, I was not being mad at you. You’ve been kind. And I am not mad at Blizzard for issues happening - as its a complex game with a lot of code. But what gets me is that they do take their sweet time meanwhile when community figures out what to do about it.
Hey, still better game than Fortnite!
(and that making mods to it is form of therapy and all that)
so much for waiting for patching---- I still have issues, handing in quests are causing frame drops still. However was just wondering as I am confused somewhat, will the work around (the Hotfix and Tooltip files and select “Properties” and click on “Read Only” and hit “Apply”) still cause problems to the HDD??
I do like to keep my SSD only for my windows and adobe suit…on other notes, according to the US forums the latest pacth should have worked, but obviously not…anyways there seem to be more info in the US forums then here.
As it is resetday, I am actually pretty disappointed that nothing is fixed yet , it is
7 days and counting now.
Also I find it unacceptable that we have to do workarounds and copy paste batch files, composed by cleaver players in order to have a playable game, and making sure our harddives is not taking damage…This is a game that we pay a monthly fee for Blizzard should be the one fixing this - not the players
Edit: I still have lagspikes upon handing in and zoning/phasing
