I am having the exact same problem, I even re-installed the game and everything, drivers are up to date, waited for today and nothing, it still freezes every time I hand in a quest.

and seems we gonna have to deal with it. meanwhile some ppl on guild, dont have the freezes issues but they just have their emissery randomly completed when they log in.

Mate just use the reddit workaround, it works fine
every patch games becomes more unplayable for me wow goes upto %100 disk usage and textures loading time x2 every patch

No sign of improvement or fix, the only way to avoid destroying our hard disk is to use the workaround or to play something else instead until itâs fixedâŚ

Really, just use it, Iâve given up at this point, workaround works fine, smooth, I lagg even less as usually tbh.
My batch file works fine, no need to do anything manually or whatever the reddit fix is.

ok I just logged into battle net, it needed to update, so I thought JIPPI! After the update I restarted and logged on. Well the emissary bug is gone, but I still have freezesâŚgetting a quest is fine, I experienced freezes while moving, a huge frame dropâŚso yea⌠

I finally succumbed and used the work around with the âhotfixâ set on read only. The lags are gone however, what is worrying me is that I am having a lot of GPU spikesâŚexactly like when I was playing without the work around! So I was wondering anyone else have observed this?? I donât want to fry my HDD so I stopped after 30 minsâŚthis cant be healthyâŚwhich makes me wonder if the problem might not be only the logs. 
How GPU spikes can be HDD related? If itâs graphics memory that spikes, how HDD issue would cause it? You can use CTRL + ALT + DEL and check your HDD usage, if itâs not peaking at 100% then it shouldnât be damaged in any way.

What is the workaround?
Setting log file to read only, read post from the start, donât be lazy, and you will find your answer.
Does not work, when your wow is installed on location that contains weird letters. So for me it always changes wow location from âgamesâ (which in my language contains an accented letter) to something else because it cannot read my language specific letters and changes it to another apparently random letter.
Oh well least otherwise it would work for normal people
