So about 9.1 gearing

According to this article about gear changes in 9.1 on IcyVeins:

" Raid Gear Changes in Patch 9.1

The current plan is to add powerful bonuses to raid gear that would only work inside the raids, so if you equipped those in PvP or Mythic Dungeons, they would be worthless, making raid gear the best for raiding."

What a LOAD of cr*p.
I agree on PVP gear should be different than PVE and you can solve this with resilience.
BUT having RAID gear and Dungeon gear F.F.S.
What is the reasoning behind this decision?
This game is turning into a korean grindfest for real.
Why is it so difficult for them to do something right for once?

Sounds great to me and it makes sense. Do the content, to get the gear for that content.

Now all they would have to do, is do the same for PvP gear, dungeon gear and world content gear and we got a great solution to many of WoW’s gearing problems.

Can there be PVP set bonuses that work in arenas/bg’s?
Can there then be PVE M+ gear that only works in dungeons/M+?

AND just let all of them work in the open world!
Let people have fun with their gear powers.

Don’t know how true this is. But it sounds ridiculous. More convoluted systems.

Nononono.
There should be gear for world content too. People who prefer that type of content (me) should be thrown a bone too. Stop excluding ‘us’.

PVE is PVE, Raid gear and Dungeon gear should both be viable in both scenarios. Only raid gear and only dungeon gear seems to split pve players who play both things like me for example. I run mythics to get gear to perform better on the raid.

Next thing they gonna add different gear to arena and different gear for bgs.

How are raid exclusive bonuses on RAID GEAR convoluted?
Man… Some people can never be pleased, can they?

What’s the problem now?! You, as a raider, can’t pwn people in other activities by default? Oh boohoo.

on pvp it should be viable 100% but on pve like dungeons? seriously?

They aren’t capable of balancing mythic plus and raid rewards though. The current gearing is testament to that with hardly anyone happy,

Letting specific content types provide a path to progress within that content removes a lot of problems.

On a personal note I say bring it on, it sounds like a vast improvement.

on BFA was just fine. Just give more damn loot in mythics.

Blizzard always create problems to give solutions to for no reason.

It’s really not.
There’s a HUUUUGE difference between WQs, a dungeon, a raid, a world boss. To name a few.

How are they split? You can still do both.
You just won’t default be ‘the best’ at one by doing the other.
Imo that’s a good thing. Reign of the raiders (in other content) should come to an end. It’s been long overdue.

And you don’t see how backwards that is?
You should do raids to get raid gear. Makes all the sense in the world.

Neh, because PvP is a red-headed stepchild. Don’t worry.

I’d be happy with that personally if it was at decent ilvl but likely that would mean titanforging coming back.

PSA: Versatility is Resilience. That’s why they can’t add a PvP stat. We already have one.

The problem is that Blizz aren’t doing the maths and changing classes so that vers isn’t some specs’ strongest stat in general, as such some players are best server by PvP gear in all situations.

I mean… it kind of sounds like… freedom?

Prefer raids to dungeons? That’s fine, raid gear is best for you anyway, don’t worry about grinding 4x M+ per week.

Dungeons more fun than raids? Raid gear doesn’t help you anyway.

I do hope they balance the vault though. Heroic CN is harder than a +14, so why does the vault have to be stingy and only give us 213 pieces for heroic raid kills? If there remains a big ilvl gap on the vault, dungeon gear will still end up outperforming the raid sets…

Exactly! :+1:t4:

I’m just talking about the effects… we can have world quest gear that has uber effects in world quests, enough to rival other content sets while in the open world, even though it’s lower ilvl.

What matters are the effects, what they do, i hope they think of something better than +5% dmg on a characters main nuke…

like world quests are difficult…come on. WQs is the most casual thing in wow you can do them with 150ilvl.

Ho shoot, is Dat serious? Where is the sauce? I mean, if it is true then it means Blizzard starts to understand that gear content should be segregated per content, rather than being shared within the same pool.

Then you have more time ahead of you to enjoy that content, because you have to play that content to improve your character!

And it doesn’t matter if that means you can’t assemble a max ilvl set very fast, because the only place it matters is in that content.

Unless you’re just collecting ilvl for the epeen.
