Ok, idea was cool, but implementation is incredibly awful.
So, where to start?
Training your dps on training dummy is now pointless. My experience from testing that mind flay corruption:
Test #1 - 45k dps
#2 - 40k
#3 - 35k
#4 - 50k!
All the time I had only that one mind flay corrupted effect and I didn’t change my talents/gear. Corruption did 5-30% of my damage. This is just outrageous, silly, stupid, dumb and idiotic.
Now, as raid leader, I check after raid who’s good and who’s not. Oh, this warrior is good, I check further, hey, corruption is his #1 damage… Did he have luck? Ok, later, this shadow priest sucked in previous, after getting Infinite Stars he was #2 on Maut with 60k dps. What the hell?
I had to check this, since we have more than 30 ppl in group and before picking 20 players for mythic I have to check who should go. Should I just pick top dps? That won’t be fair for unlucky people.
Negative effects RNG is also incredibly bad. It’s either no proc at all for few minutes, then one proc which you cleanse and then BOOM 2 eyes + slow + clone and you’re dead…
Or example from arena.
I play hpally+feral vs dpriest+assa.
Assa did so much damage I couldn’t heal through it during wings. I checked his damage - 20% mind flay…
Ok, next arena, I wore gloves with tentacle corruption.
We faced arms+hpally. I popped consecration, faked interupt and spammed Holy Light (Avenging Light), corruption procced, warrior bites the dust. I checked my damage: 200k consecration, 750k mind flay…
Overall, I find WoW now to be one big cluster of annoyances. Last two patches are the most tiresome and annoying patches in history of WoW. If Ion is “happy” how corrupted gear worked out - fine for him. I am not gonna pay for second job and casino royale just to have fun in hamster wheel.
