I play Wow since it was released in EU. Got family and kids and took a 5 years break, so I skipped shadowlands and BFA.
I came back for DF.
Now I’m in vacation and finally took my time to complete the celebration secrets chain and get the felcycle.
I did all the quest to get the Detective title and started with Ratt’s Revenge. Went on wowhead, read in the guide I need “Dogg-Saron” Costume or “Yipp-Saron” Costume and bought one from the AH for 28K gold.
Now the next step is I need a toy available in BFA which I obviously don’t have (Twitching Eyeball or All-Seeing Eyes or Gift of N’Zoth).
I started looking which one is easier to get and it looks like it is no longer possible to get any of them. Of those only twitching eyeball is possible to get IF you have the BFA world quests unlocked as it comes from quest chain which drops as item from a naga during world quest!!!
So now you need the BFA world quest unlocked.
I looked again wowhead, any internet guide and… it’s simply impossible - quests removed, npc disappeared or no longer available… And why at level 80 in war within I need to go back to BFA to do all low level quests there to simply get a mount in TWW???
After spending one whole day of my vacation and 28k gold I’m now beyond frustrated from the yet another buggy, not completable quest chain!!!
It feels like you need to complete a quest on 29th Feb in a not leap year.
The next time you decide to do such secret chain may be not link them to completing one full past expansion.

The Wowhead guide is awful. It has you doing stuff you don’t need to and it’s frustrating to follow.
For the 2nd Orb’s key you just have to stand around and if soemone /pray at the obelisk you will get the key too

You can group up with people who has the toys n such that you don’t have, or stand around until someone who’s got them shows up to do their thing and if you are in the right area you will get credit for it as well. Personally i missed a lot of the toys needed but i did the secret with two friends and that worked. - If i remember right, you don’t need any of the ‘Twitching Eyeball or All-Seeing Eyes or Gift of N’Zoth’, Just the Pug-pet costume, I would guess that item that was added to the traveling merchant for that hefty price was a work-around for those without those toys. - But as said, If you have some friends, ask them to assist you on the steps you get stuck at, Or wait around for random people to come and do their thing. - Also (not 100% sure on this), But as it is a secret thingy, It’s not like it would be removed after anniversary is over, One can do them whenever. So don’t stress about it. One could still go and do the secret event stuff from Dragonflight for example, which introduced the thinking-cap and such.

FYI, you can get credit off others doing some of these. Other being in STV for the pet+toy+mog of 5 different categories.
I didn’t have the Ventyr stuff, someone else did and I got credit off them. I wasn’t even in a group.
On a side note you can buy the Pug’s costume off the AH… plenty of people didn’t use theirs as they got credit off others.

As you mentioned you need
which comes from
Which drops from random naga during a naga invasion world quest .
These are not removed . If I remember correctly you need to progress the story up to a point , for these to unlock . When I leveled my horde alt (few months ago) I had to basically finish the level up campaign and save Zuldazar , but it might be possible to do it faster as I wanted to do everything in story order , so I consciously left some available quests for later .
When it is available , you will see 1 or 2 naga invasions in a random bfa zone . They usually give a pearl that buff’s stats .

After 5 years away from wow I have no friends left.
I don’t see my self standing in Dornogal spamming chat to find someone that want to waste its time to do it for me.
The questline to unlock the world quests is broken as some quest in the quest chain were removed ( The Speaker’s Imperative). I seem to have completed some other quests but no idea which more I need to complete. Some guides state I need reputation - no chance I will be grinding old expansion reputation to then hope for an item to drop…
Another useless quest chain… It is so frustrating…
That’s how the Secrets of Azeroth work.
You are expected to have cleared the content and played the game.
And you don’t need to do all of this now, you can spend free time on making small progress here and there. It’s not mandatory content, no matter how much you want the cool bike to run around with.
As was pointed out, it takes just asking people in chat to give a quick hand in with the parts you’re stuck, and there’s enough people online more than willing to help out.
There’s communities, discord, guilds, you name it to just hook up with people after the same goal without being forced “to make friends”.
Heaven forbid, you actually talk to someone in an MMORPG.

Complain on the Forums how curel and unfair the game is way more easier
You literally could hook up with a few strangers willing to help if you spend that time to ask around and talk instead typing and crying on the forum oh woe is me
Seems to be this generation’s playstyle…
Get everything, preferably when installing the game and zero effort or avoiding everyone and then complaining about every single obstacle on the way…

I have played wow since it was released (except for the 5 year break I took!)
Anyhow, your problem is an easy one to fix. You’ve been offered a bunch of solutions here.

How dare you…
And you call yourself a wow player?
My point here is that a quest in TWW shall not require a toy from old expansion that is no longer obtainable if you havent unlocked the WQ.
And unlocking the WQ for BFA is:
- quest chain is broken due to removed quest
- there is no guide or anything pointing out how to do it at level 80 in TWW expansion
- the npcs from the guides from previous years do not exist/are not where the old guide suggest/or you are somewhere instanced
- I could be as well new paying player that want to get that mount and there is no reason to not be available for me as I pay the same month subscription as the rest
- Finding a player that has BFA toy and haven’t done it yet at that point is… nice wish!
The statement clearly was you can finish the quest chain even after the event (well, that’s not entirely true as finding player with the toy at that part of the quest chain become more difficult if possible at all).
I don’t have the toy and succeeded at it.
It’s really not that hard and there are even multiple toys you can use

That’s…simply untrue. You wasted 28k Gold. I only had the Twitching Eyeball Toy, which I farmed just for this secret, and my uncostumed Pug.
Does the guide (still) state the costumes are neccessary?
Anyhow: Stop raging, calm down and do the secret in your own pace. It will go nowhere. You have the title, now you have all the time in the universe to complete it.
Players starting to play WoW after the 20th Celebration event ends, THEY can’t do this secret as they’ll be unable to obtain the needed detective title.
Ahem…'scuse me, you’re mixing something up here.
The secret is a Base subscription WoW quest without the need to buy anything besides the monthly subscription.
As the others have said, in most cases you personally don’t need the stuff. Just go to where the quest is happening and wait for someone who comes along with the necessary stuff. That’s how I got the pray quest and a few others.
Good luck - the bike is worth it as is the kudos for struggling your way through it
Again - the point here is completely different. The quest in the current expansion requires an item from an old expansion which might not be obtainable/or is hardly obtainable at the moment. This is a bad quest design that cause a lot of frustration together with all the bugs and buggy events in TWW.
You can go at the quest location and wait for the other players to finish it for you just the first days/weeks of the quest being released. After a month the players who wanted it would have completed it, so this will not work if you want to complete it late (it was stated you can complete it even after the event ends).
My whole post here is related to the quest requirements and the future design of such quests.
They might be hard to complete but shall be doable (not relying on someone else to complete it for you).
Sorry of course you need TWW, braindead me.
But this remains:
Any new player (prior end of 20th Celebration due to Detectives title) can complete this event by just completiung every neccessary step in their own pace. That includes BFA WQ unlocks, Black Empire Invasion unlocks to see the Obilisk, and everything else.
The event is 100% soloable, it just requires a huge amount of work for new players.
Create a WoW account, subscribe, get the Detective title and off you go. All of the old content can be done by those players, including you.
n-Edits: Removed my stupid “TWW not required” parts
