So no one going to talk about the leaked document for class ideas by Blizz

Blizzard are testing class, spec and hero talent concepts against different segments of the playerbase - a move that makes a lot of sense given how Evokers were not universally well received.

Sadly the leaked survey document is in german only.

Tinker = Tank heal dps
Genius inventors , who have uncovered the secrets of titan technology , and using it to protect their allies , heal wounds and attack enemies. Through their understanding of machines. Tinkers can create inventions ( cusom made spells) , control mech suits and deploy mechanical constructs to create an advantage in combat.

Necromaner - dps class , no class description

Bard = Tank , heal , dps
Utilizing the song of Azeroth to cast mighty spells , support their allies , weaken their enemies. Bards shine in a group , empowering and improving spells of other at the same time bringing numerous songs and auras to their group reach new heights.

Warden = doesn’t say what specs
Versatile , armored hunters , who with their art of chakrams and traps, devastating ranged and melee attacks to employ.

Titankiller = dps , tank

Prismatics = tank , heal , dps
As heirs to titanic power , Prismatics are carriers of cosmic powers that can not only be used in their purest forms , but their transcending powers can be merged into new powers. They refine and focus , the power of life to heal their allies. The powers of order to protect themselves or they can merge the powers of shadow and death to deal damage to their enemies.

Leyweaver
Artificer
witch
Celestial lancer
gunslinger
Astrologian

I think Blizz want to gauge the players in the near future. Which class sounds more appealing to them.
From the list here which one sounds more appealing to you. Sadly some don’t have any descriptions or just one line.

PS : I can’t link in this post the source. But bellular and some other content creators have reacted to it.

Bard all day everyday for me. Getting my jam on while tanking and healing sounds a dream to me  why wow doesn’t have bards in game is nuts. They could let us play instruments too. Be the dream class in your house in midnight

I guess if you’re Blizzard and you look at the classes that have been added in expansions – Death Knight, Monk, Demon Hunter, Evoker – and you’re pondering whether to continue making more classes in future expansions, and you can see that the popularity of the ones you have made vary greatly, then there’s three underline questions you need enlightened.

Do players desire more new classes at all?
And if yes, do they only desire new classes if they represent a certain fantasy?
And if yes, what fantasy?

Because it’s obviously dumb to make new classes if players aren’t interested in new classes at all. And it’s also dumb to make a Bard class if players only want a Tinker.

Personally I just play my Priest. I’ve done that since day 1 and I’ll continue to do that. From a broader game perspective I don’t think new classes benefit the game as a whole, even if they may appeal to some people’s gameplay fantasies.
I think Blizzard ought to focus on their own mantra of concentrated coolness and doubling down on making the existing line-up of classes more exciting, rather than bloating it with more choices.

Just tried that doesn’t work

It looked like ChatGPT or fanfiction to me. Pretty much everything starting with “Tinker” is flag that it is.

It would be much better if they would work on the existing classes.

DH could use another spec for a while now.
Druid is the only class with 4 specs.
Druid is also the only class with a tank + range dps spec so if you want that, you have no choice.

We have enough classes, now its time to finally iron out the specs for each.

Agreed.

Necromancer could be a DK caster spec, Bard Rogue heal spec, Warden Hunter spec
.

Ultimately it would be easier for Blizzard to balance a few new specs, then have to deal with additional classes, all with unique specs etc.

Some of the names sounds more like Hero specializations.

Astrologian / Astrologist reminds me of Final Fantasy Tactics.

Pesonally I’d prefer more specializations on existing classes than more classes.

Judging from these forums alone, Bard is more popular than Tinker.

Simply insert spaces between parts of the link, like this: https : / / www. eu. forums .blizzard .com

Of course someone was gonna talk about it, and here you are. :stuck_out_tongue:
And so are we.

My view on this:

I think this would quite strongly miss the mark. People want nothing more or less than the greasy goblin/gnome engineering that we all know as the engineering profession turned into a class.

By effectively “sanitizing” it like this, it would turn into a total disaster. It’d be the Drac’thyr mistake 2.0. Some people are going to like it, but most people will have wanted something very different from what they’ll get.

11.1 would have been the right time to introduce the tinker with a quest line to go along side it for new tinkers to be. Sadly, this did not happen.

It’s a classic and definitely feels like it would belong in an expansion like The Last Titan, taking place in Northrend.

It does have significant overlaps with the warlock though - even if not in feel, certainly in gameplay. They are both clothies and they both use unholy magic and legions of minions.

Bard could be the missing counterpiece to the Augmentation Evoker.

I think they should be aug, DPS, tank myself. I question the healer because, at least to me, it doesn’t make sense.

But singing songs to people that make them mad at you? Oh yeah.

Too similar to Hunters.

What?

Weird concept
 very weird.

Not sure what this means, but it sounds too similar to mage.

This could be a great spec for tinkers - or the other way around. Perhaps tinkers could be the tank spec of artificers.

I think the fact that “Hexenmeister” means both witch and warlock in German says it all.

What?

Hunters. Maybe needs a new build. Not a class.

Not sure where they’re going with that.

This right here tells me that someone was again fantasizing hard
There is already a dumb down version of a necromancer in the game called unholy DK.
There is no way blizzard will do proper necro withtou redesigning or completely scraping unholy DK

A guild mate would love for Tinkers to be a thing. I’ve no idea if this was a genuine survey or not.

Pretty sure I heard about Tinkers the first time during BFA or early Shadowlands, there was even some animations on wowhead about it.

But aren’t DK technically sorta necromancers?

None at all. And I hope all that stuff is a joke. Its just a re-mix of existing specs or professions.

From a gameplay perspective there is not much more room to make unique specs if you think about it. All the niches are already filled.

And from a balancing perspective we already have 40 specs. And Blizzard is incapable of balancing the game arround those 40 specs. Not to mention the dumpsterfire Aug Evoker became.

So adding even more to the mis is a HUGE mistake. Evokers were a mistake. Doubling down on them is an even greater mistake.

If they want to add variety, they could add re-skins to existing specs. A Warden could be a Survival Hunter that uses darts instead of a gun and bombs. Change the animations and icons and you got yourself one.

Same with all the other suggestions.

None. We have too many already.
Maybe necromancer as fourth spec for Warlock. That’s about it.

Sorry it did not work :frowning:

Maybe a 3rd spec for DH’s but i have no idea what.

Ok sure here are my thoughts

Oh god pls don’t.

Yes, this is something I have wanted since the start.

Sure, why not. Sounds like a Dh though.

Could be cool, buuut will they be using only guns? Will they add pistols as a one hand option?

Isn’t this just a warlock?

I have no idea what those are and would rather have something the community has known and/or wanted (even if it’s Thinker)
