are you enjoying the content guys?
remember when you said alt friendly?
yeah that means incursions.
free exp, gold, welfare epics. you pretty much get the whole package.
so surely, you are having fun, right guys?
surely this is the kind of content you were asking for when you said “give us something to do” yes?
SURELY THIS MAKES YOU HAPPY, CASUAL JOE OUT THERE? CAN I SEE SOME HANDS?
casual joe ruined the game, and is he anywhere with an apology? no because casual joe just quit and move on to the next game he can complain he ain’t got the time to play.
like a scourge, or a locust he goes from game to game, like the grim reaper swinging his scythe indiscriminately… ruining game upon game upon game.
are we done catering to casual joe yet? how many versions of wow are we going to ruin to cater to this moron?
just curious, because my priest just hit 50 and now blizzard just put on yet another clown nose on my character and said “lol if you had literally waited a week you could have done it in half the time KEKW”
you are actively making me feel like an idiot for investing time into this game. horrible design philosophy.
stop with the catchup mechanics and remove the welfare epics and gold. what are you even doing like omfg.
I think it is perfect for new players. Far better than retail or classic.
Just imagine you are new player in classic. People farmed gold for years now , basic consumes cost a kidney. Totally unreachable.
Retail is far too complex. Even for experienced player , there are more spells to use than keybinds available. Each extension incremented by adding spells , more and more. Very good for talented and experienced players , but what about noobs ? I mean people who just started the game ?
SOD is quite good for new players. That’s one very positive aspect that is often overlooked.
And as an experienced player , I have quite a lot of fun with my guild farm reputations and stuff for P4. The game is good. Some balance problems that I hope will be addressed once we get max level , some screw up with economy due to incursions , but the gameplay feels good especially with the last damage reduction in pvp
No matter in which kind of ways and how many kinds of ways you express your disgust towards what you call casuals, if they weren’t here then you wouldn’t be playing the game either as Blizzard isn’t a philanthropic institution.
So you can yell and throw around hyperbole’s as much as you like, you better get some peace with the thought that someone has to pay the bill cause otherwise you would be out on the street so to speak. (might be a good idea in your case though)
Not necceraily broken tho ,sure some people are really stacked ,but you can sell mats to make the gold you need ,I just joined woltk because of cata pre patch and already sitting on 3k g by doing old dungeons and auction all cloth I get (and barely did it , just to have some gold to get me going )
And because everyone spending gold on mats to lvl prof for cata ,you can pick up a gathering prof and just pick up nodes/herbs when you are questing and make a decent some by the time you hit max lvl (low nodes esp selling well because no max lvl will bother gathering them)
And lastely purely questing in northrand and auctioning all the cloth you get along the way will already set you with a decent amount of gold
i flat out disagree. there is no carrot. the game showering you with loot is not a good motivator.
a new player will likely get his prebis and quit, figuring he’s done all there is to do - and he’d be right in this case because save for the raid loot, there is no further progress to be made for a character after getting to 50, getting a bunch of gold and getting the free set/weapon from incursions/stv.
its beyond unhealthy. its a factor that plays directly into peoples decision to quit.
you know why people still play elden ring? because the story is still a mystery. you need fuel to keep the fire burning.
in wow terms, this means having loot (or just stuff to do) that is extremely hard to obtain - to function as the carrot that keeps you coming back for more… now, by “extremely hard” i don’t necessarily mean “borderline impossible”, but just look at the vanilla version of the game - loot is hard to come by, and that’s what keeps people playing, because they want the god damn loot.
what do you think happens in vanilla wow when someone is full naxx bis? they quit the game, because their character has peaked and cannot get any stronger - they completed it.
the perpetual treadmill is a good thing when done correctly… and “incursions” is the perfect example of how NOT to design a treadmill.
new players will learn, given enough time.
good players didn’t just magically start out being uber pro, they got there through dedication, practice, effort and hardship.
you are clearly of the opinion that the player’s intelligence is not to be respected. you are telling me here, that the player needs to have his hand held or he will never get better.
the complete opposite of what makes a good player… you know what they say about teaching a man to fish?
yeah, that exact logic applies to gaming as well. if you leave the player to figure it out on his own, he will be forced to learn to get better, whereas if you handhold him, he is less likely to get better as a direct result of having his life made easier in some way shape or form.
you know that dreadful arrow that points you which way to go in some games?
yeah, that’s a great way of making sure you never learn the lay of the land and never map out your surroundings.
Yes ,i do farm hour or two gold, play a few battlegrounds, some world pvp, guild raid once per week, it fits me so well …the current state …and hope to continue this way
that might be true, but casuals also need to know their place. they are not priority number 1.
without dedicated nerds wow would have never taken off and become successful.
the nerds are what makes wow successful, the casuals came in after wow became successful to see what the fuss was about.
if you truly think casuals are the lifeblood of this game i strongly advise using your own head and stop parroting what your favorite streamer tells you because this take has “asmongold” written all over it, and much like his relationship with WoW as a game, he is completely out of touch in regards to the general gamer demographic.
many casuals of the past are now pro gamers. casual is a temporary state of being. you people need to figure that out when you argue based on nerd vs. casual mentality.
considering 1-39 experience buff went from 100-150% and 40-50 experience buff went from 75-100%, the fact that you’re saying it would take “half the time” makes me think calling you a clown may be wrong, but you’re definitely not a genius either.
100% to 150% = 33% reduced time.
75% to 100% = 25% reduced time.
For the levelling to take half the time, buffs would have to be doubled.
I think personally the game isn’t made just for you, I’m banned so what would I care yet I can still post on these forums from my pc which shows the level of competence we are dealing with here, if you’re not happy unsub and scoot along, the sooner you realise Blizzard is a money-making machine and does not care 1 bit about YOUR enjoyment you will sleep better.
If enough people wake up and stop things will change until then the herd is the herd and will go where the grass is greener. Sadly, SoD grass is covered in Tauren poop so don’t eat it
So it’s your take that the micro minority dictates the large majority? Your delusions of grandeur exceeds everything i’ve seen so far on these forums, you’re beyond repair.
And throw in some insults as your kind is only capable of that when ppl start poking where it hurts. Then categorize the person taking you on because it’s easy and toxic, big fun.
First of all said streamer who’s name i shall not mention is a troll, a charlatan. He mixes truth with his own delusional beliefs but if you say it was his belief that wow wouldn’t exist without casuals then he’s not far from the truth. (i quite dislike the guy to say the least)
I can think for myself thank you very much. If casuals were to leave wow as a whole then blizzard would have to merge all servers per version into one and make the monthly fee way higher, if SoD f/i would get a right to exist at all.
You ppl?? You think you know me? I don’t share your uptight arrogance, i have a more relaxed pov on things. Being more relaxed doesn’t make me a new player who’s got to learn everything, been there, done that, seen it before. I’ve seen many fellow (semi-) hardcore players burn up and so did i so i play with a different mindset nowadays, still doesn’t make me a casual. Disagreeing with your OP doesn’t make me a casual either.
You want separatism (remember casuals needs to know their place, your words) but i like to give ppl some input so that they become a little bit better at what they do.
Do you really think that manipulation on the forums is going to work out in your advantage?
