So the new undead capital

While you indeed listed some good advantages for Alterac being the new Forsaken capital, there’s the problem that such a choice would probably create more tensions between them and the Alliance, and that’s something that would not be great for their new identity post-Sylvanas.

Because with the Forsaken settling down in Alterac, the Humans would definitely get the impression that now the Forsaken want to continue the legacy of the former Alteraci Human kingdom, that since the Second War it is a very negative legacy of a band of thieves, murderers and traitors (in the eyes of the Alliance of course). So the Forsaken settling down in Alterac City would definitely creates tensions and incidents with them and the nearest Alliance holdings, as the Humans would think the Forsaken specifically picked that city because they are up to troubles against humanity once again, and that’s something we do not want for the new Forsaken identity after Sylvanas (unless you want a 5th faction war again soon? But then don’t complain if another Alliance capital/race gets exterminated again, of course :stuck_out_tongue: )

So while Alterac is actually a good choice strategically, the relations with the Humans would definitely be strained if they settle down there…it’s better if they stay well up north in Lordaeron properly (not necessarily Tirisfal, though, but one of the core regions of the former Kingdom of Lordaeron would be better not only because they would be far from the Alliance, but also for their identities as former Lordaeroni humans…oh and the cold weather, while beneficial for the Undead, it isn’t a necessary requisite, their bodies just suffer in hot regions like Durotar and the Barrens, but the temperature of Lordaeron in general is perfectly okay to preserve the Undead body, so the cold climate of Alterac isn’t necessarily needed for their existence)
