So.. Valor points system

Your clarification on this truly helped bring this topic about a bad implementation of a fix forward immensely.

so instead we have to re endure re farming gear that may or may not drop again for us for weeks on end!!! Id much rather go through Item History than have to re farm dungeons that frankly is a real pain to get a item you actually want.

and here im quietly laughing at people who are just waking up to sad reality of SL being inferior more cynical version of WoD

you all got what your deserve - should have kept quiet instead whinign about TF/corruptions/WF/emmisaries and whole BfA.

karma got all you back

i personaly dont care anymore so i laugh so hard.

called it months ago - what SL really is

its most cynical expansion so far - made only to mild your addiction

hillarious

yup

this alone proves they are cynical liers who do not care about their playerbase in slightests.

I hope those technical reasons can be addressed, because I’m fairly sure the vast majority of players who’re serious about M+ progression would much, much rather comb through their banks and item restoration than have to farm items all over again.

The major issue with M+ gearing is not so much getting items to a high ilevel, but getting them to drop in the first place. This was why many people, myself included, turned to PvP as a way of gearing up for PvE. The vendor was an excellent way of filling in slots that just refused to drop in M+.

While the return of valour is a much needed step in the right direction, it’s going to cause a lot of frustration and burnout when players realise all of the gear they’ve spent the last few months collecting doesn’t work with the new currency. I hope this system can be made to elicit feelings of excitement when it launches rather than exhaustion and disappointment.

This is massively dissapointing to hear. I even put a socket into a ring in anticipation of this and now I have to RE-FARM the ring as well as having to re-farm stygia for the socket upgrade? All this at the END of a tier where we want to focus on pushing as high keys as possible.

Just reseting peoples’ cooldown on item restoration is a better approach. The lists of items people have received are not that long because content drop almost no loot anyway.

This is below the effort you guys put in to fix the corruption system. Please reconsider or I will reconsider my subscription money.

Going through my item history would be pretty easy considering for like 2 months its 4 or 5 pieces of gear XD

yeah. funnily enough i held on to a couple of pieces of m0 versions of my bis gear for sentimental reasons. i never have gotten them again either after m0. its utterly frustrating.

whats even more frustrating is that even if i upgrade them, they probably will still be worse than some if not most of the items i have now…
i dont even have the m+10 achievement and i sit on an item level of 210/212. the trinket would be pretty much the only thing that were an upgrade.

i hate to be a pessimist but i somehow knew that, if blizzard were to implement some form of pve currency, they would mess it up. it seems that, whatever blizzard does, theres always a catch, im so tired of it.

it’s bis for me in my outlook at currently obtainable situation!

It’ll be quicker to BoE farm, sell ones you can’t use and buy BoE upgrades than it is to regrind M+ for all that time we’ve done already to get to our current gear states!

That’s what I’ll probably do, besides buying of AH is like going to a PVP vendor, I get to choose my upgrade. No RNG involved.

Last time i used VP was in cata.

Rings and some off hands were 700. But most major armor pieces were in the 2k + range with a weekly limit of earning 1250 VP. If you have two or more specs to gear then you are looking at a long time to gear up using this method. A long time

I won’t comment on your technical reasoning, as that would be speaking from ignorance.

However, there is no positive you can possibly draw from “waiting to avoid the feeling of going through months of item history”.

No. I want to avoid the feeling of farming De Other Side and Spires of Ascension over and over and over and over again for an insanely low trinket chance, for a trinket that I ALREADY HAVE.

I honestly cannot think of a more disappointing use of my time. I already pay for the 6 month sub, my timegate is pre-paid, can I not just save myself the hassle?

Who even thought that line would make people like this?

They’re literally saying they think it would be too stressful to look through your bank bags, so it’s better you all grinds for weeks/months to re-obtain what you already have?!?!?!

IRL truth: “We want you to grind more, get to it.”

they already said that raiders will get a similar system once they figured it out.

if you dont get the problem with valor points for m+ then i dont know what to tell you man.

As much as i think that the reintroduction of Valor Points is a step in the right direction, it definitely feels like a huge mistake for this system to cap at 220 IL. To be honest, as a player who is both Gladiator and Cutting Edge on most tiers, i feel like the balance here completely shifted towards PvP. I get close to no loot from raid, and i have to rely on pure RNG luck to get any upgrade from M+ at all after doing 10 (TEN!) dungeons every week. I do think the PvP vendor is awesome so no need to make changes or nerfs there, however the actual issue is the lack of targetable loot in PvE. I think, no matter what, that M+ rewards should cap at 226/233 IL just like PvP and raid, because otherwise it’s like admitting that M+ is an inferior content not worth of investing time into, which we know it’s not true (biggest WoW esport event is MDI after all). If anything, of all types of content high M+ pushing (20 and up) is the thing that literally requires the most gear in this game to be successful at, and it is indeed sort of ironic that it is the type of content that gives you literally nothing for your time and effort. In my opinion there are a variety of possible solutions:

1 Introduce a currency similar to how residuum worked instead of the 750 stygia, that way if we get no upgrades for more than one week, we can accumulate this currency instead to eventually buy a piece of gear of our choice.

2 Introduce a vendor that caps at 226 IL, using a weekly capped currency we obtain through completing dungeons, perhaps requiring all +20 dungeons or so, or maybe +18, but regardless of which treshold is chosen, the ability to reach the max IL must be present, else the whole system is invalidated.

3 Valor upgrade system, which is already in the works.

The bottom line is, the issue with loot is a symptom of a bigger issue: for years Mythic + players have asked for the system to be reworked and modernized, and still to this day the only thing distinguishing an exceptional player from a casual is a number which exists on a third party website. This is frankly unacceptable. Rework the M+ system as a whole, create a ladder similar to PvP, give cosmetics and gear rewards based on player achievements on a spec based ladder. That’s how you make a great game. Not arbitrarily put completely RNG rewards for one type of content and literally make a vendor that gives you everything you want for the other type. The game has three types of content, Raid, M+ and PvP, and everyone should have the choice to progress in whatever they prefer and not be penalized with underperforming characters for it. Apologies for the long post.

Raids? Sure.

M+? Because it’s pointless, the issue isn’t with the lack of M+ gear, it’s that it scales to 210.

So let me see if i understand this , we can only upgrade items that drop from M+?
Is it acurate?
If its like that , nothing drops in M+ …how we gonna upgrade stuff we dont have…

You have mistaken “your first online shop” with multinode cluster architecture.

first of all its not “apply patch”. They would have to create migration to transform current items into new item item. Second, comparison of records is completely and utterly useless.

This is super high risk endeavor, long execution time, prone to errors and who is going to take responsibility for that?

No. As someone stated they could juste make an NPC that exchange your current loot with the improved loot ID with valor point.

This restriction has no excuses. none.

The company earning 20 million dollars per month from the product?

And let us remember; this was done with the corruption vendor. We were told that ‘technical limitations’ meant we couldn’t apply corruptions to items older than that patch. Then 2-3 weeks later, after massive outcry, the limitation went away.

Which makes it hard to believe the limitation is real. It sounds a lot like yet another excuse to waste players’ time and increase engagement metrics.

Others in this thread have suggested alternatives, i.e. doing a trade of old style item for new.

Let us not have players turning on and squabbling with each other over an issue that is not caused by players. We collectively deserve better than this outcome.
