So what’s the point of Player Housing?

If I carried around all those extra teleport items, I’d have so many options but I really dislike having to dedicate half a bag to that stuff and I rarely need more than the three. Four with our housing teleport. Will be nice.

I can just picture us in our respective neighbourhoods

I think, the decision was made to churn out expansions faster to grab more cash and to keep people subscribed more.

So they rash produced midnight by taking chunks from TWW.

They understood everyone (almost) understood this, and people will be reluctant to buy their half-baked dlc

So their only option was to sell it with housing, where they use PTR to make you buy pre-order, that grants early access to housing.

also blizzard needs quarterly farms. That is for the quarterly report to look good, they need a massive farm each quarter. Fall farm is legion, winter farm will be housing farm.

And thats basically what midnight housing is

Ignore him, honestly my discussion is much nicer without him.

He has done nothing but spread lies about me (and others), false claims and his own weird twisting of anything people have said. It’s bizarre that anyone has to behave this way. My actual posts are there to see clearly what I have said.

Anyone who has to quote tiny snippets out of context is not discussing the topic in good faith. Ignore people who troll, they aren’t worth your time :people_hugging:

Ah another message with 0 arguments lol. Thanks for another illustration why my last message about you is true

Yes,the conversation without me would be more optimistic, but

At least I have an opinion..all you and Tah have is marketing points and all you can do is serve as noise at least in housing thread

The conversation without me would be more optimistic, but without you it would be just the same

Then let me be a Paladin Gnome!!!

I do hope over time they’ll add more racial housing and locations. I wont hold my breath but I can live in hope!

I found the little sperg between the dk and the gnome quite interesting, has a bit more depth than housing <3 or housing </3.

Btw I think you are 90% right about midnight housing.

But if other people hate housing, and do not want housing to be implemented in WoW, that’s a valid position. Its wrong, but its valid and i can respect that. If a person loves housing and wants it to be implemented in WOW, that’s also valid position and accidentally its right.

The only real problem, is when people, who secretly hate housing, pretend to love it, so they say something like “I have been a fan of housing for 4 years, but please blizzard release it without utility/gameplay, so noone can spend time there, even if they want to”. The problem is not, that they try to downplay housing into where it is essentially a minigame world quest without reward. The problem is they cant say straight: “I hate housing and it shouldn’t be in WOW, so I will try to lobby it into where even fans of housing don’t want it”.

However, all the people, who say straight “I love housing, make more of it” or “I hate housing, delete it from the game” , respect to you.

And a specific shout out to all people, who came from Warcraft strategy to WoW, never let anyone tell you a doll house is the right house for a warcraft player.

Castles, towers, small towns – that’s where we usually play from

Gigantic trees and heroes bigger than buildings – that’s the poetic hyperbola, that underlines the best years of warcraft

So if someone wants to drink tea with dolls in a pink hovel, that’s fine.

But the quintessential form of warcraft housing is some big keep or a large tower or a town under your command

You do know there are other things at end game than just getting that .00000% higher dps meter

The very talented people that play at that level are the minority but that’s not to say they don’t collect and are interested in things like housing either.

Some players just enjoy it all. Others just choose parts of the game that appeals to them. I tend to be more of a PvE player and enjoy collecting/doing achievements.

I’m very much looking forward to having housing. It’s not going to appeal to everyone and that’s fine. Just like any feature in WoW. This is an evergreen feature we can enjoy for years to come. And those who don’t, can just ignore it. There is no power gain from it.

That’s just, like, your opinion man.

But hey… The wonderful thing about this housing system is: With enough creativity, you can make both those scenarios happen. Win/win.

You going for Horde or Alliance location at the start?

Alliance, most probably the Duskwood landscape. I just can’t resist a nice graveyard. Lots of possibilities for… things…

I am a warlock you know

Horde, most likely. I’m not 100% sure yet, but if I do, I’ll switch to a horde main for Midnight too. And will race change her to Haranir once I have them unlocked.

The thing that’s making me doubt a little bit, is that I want to have a creepy almost Drust-esque vibe for my haranir… And then a plot in the ‘creepy section’ of the alliance zone might fit better.

So yeah… I’m going to check out both neighbourhoods in the beta and decide then.

Of course eventually I’ll likely do two completely different themed houses anyway.

The thing is: I don’t like doing a ‘warband’ house. I like the idea that one character has a house and they don’t share it. So I have to decide which 2 characters I’m going to give a house to. For my initial house, my main makes the most sense and since I really like the Haranir look, I want to make one my new main. Whether that haranir will be horde or alliance, will depend on my choice for the neighbourhood.

I wish I wouldn’t overthink this. :joy: :sob:

So, Tah, are you like a whale or do you mostly buy shop items with gold?

Ah you see, thats why you shouldnt be in game design topics

‘It’s not going to appeal to everyone and that’s fine. Just like any feature in WoW.’

Is the same as saying, combat system in wow isn’t going to appeal to everyone and that’s fine

Is there some kind of marketing talk academy, where i can learn to come up with empty phrases like that, or do i have to play arathi questline over and over and i will start speaking along these lines naturally?

Tell me you’ve never worked on a videogame without telling me you’ve never worked on a videogame.

exactly, right?

you cant take a central pillar gameplay feature, and then say, 'Yes, this is the central gameplay loop people are supposed to constantly run and the main feature we are trying to sell our expansion with, but its ok, if everyone hates it, its only important that puny and tahra are happy’

xD Ridiculous

Now that’s the pickle, isn’t it.

Because while I’m definitely loving the Duskwood-esque vibes of the Alliance neighbourhood’s southern region, there’s a simple appeal to the Horde beach-adjacent lots as well. Might end up flipping a coin on which to focus on at first.

What kind of question is that? Alliance stinks. The horde are the gigachads of this game.

Reminds me of pet battles, i dont recall mops major marketing campaign hyping this up,but i could be wrong. Unfortunately it was tied to the entire acm point system/ doa ranking so you will never have accurate numbers of how long it would have lasted by pure interest/fun
