Seriously, I’ve noticed that during 1st encounters with mobs in Classic!!! And no, I didn’t watch private server gameplays before it, I just freaking remembered it unlike the so called purists and elitists who supposedly know and remember 100% of the game!
Now go and spam the suggestion/bug boxes in the game to get closer to the PROPER Vanilla experience!
Also, post things you’ve noticed yourself that you’re SURE aren’t exclusive to the xpacs or private servers, but actually were in Vanilla!
BTW, if you have problems finding Vanilla content to confirm your claims, Google what you want and set dates from November 23 of 2004 (Vanilla premiere in USA) to 15 January of 2007 (day before TBC premiere)

I never noticed the effect but considering that Classic is based on 7.5 it’s no surprise they are not there.
to the OP, i remember tons of things in vanilla that doesn’t exist in classic. and i’m pretty sure that everyone who played vanilla for 1year at least does know that “Classic have nothing to do with vanilla”

In short, there are bugged/wrong visuals (the Imgur links) or a lack of visuals to begin with (the Youtube links), during certain attack animations.
If you click on the imgur links and scroll down a bit you’ll see that there are some extra particles at the end of the spiky effects in the Classic version (click on the image to show it in the HD quality, BTW). In the videos you’ll see that the warrior, while using melee abilities, has a colorful streaks following his weapon, which is nowhere to be found in Classic.
It’s based on 1.13 which is the last patch during Vanilla, I believe. And even if it wasn’t, the video is from the 1.5 version, which was released in the middle of 2005, while TBC was released at the beginning of 2007.
You mean patch 1.12.1.
The client dottie was taking about however is based on the legion 7.3.5 client.

They were clearly copied/recreated it in Classic to look similar to Vanilla but it looks too damn buggy for my poor eyes. Plus, it’s extra embarrassing because private servers got these stuff right.

They prob got it right because they are using copy of original game in original engine, they did not have to recreate it.
I meant the engine behind it, obviously the content is 1.13 with alterations.
So, visuals = Nothing in common with Vanilla you say?! Tell me 1 thing which was in Vanilla and is not in Classic, regarding game play and such, of course.

I have noticed that Smite from Priests looks a lot different from Vanilla. There seems to be more…oomph when the spell hits. It used to be this cresent moon looking like “slash” of holy light.

& i’m so mad for not having detect trap as a castable buff, thats a huge game play experience for me.
