So why don't we have matchmaking for mythic yet?

It’s based on having experience with pugging and the general playerbase. What happens if you force a healer, that normally declines every prot warrior in the queue, into a key with a prot warrior? There are toxic people in leveling dungeons, where it doesn’t even matter, put them in an M+ and just watch what happens.

I don’t think you understand that you would still have a queuing system right? One where somebody has to offer up their key for the dungeon to even start. In a system where I imagine a huge amount of people will not want to offer up their own key to a group of randoms.

You don’t force them, they click on LFG and agree to me matched with any classes. You claim to have experience with pugs yet fail to show that fundamentally.

Again showing your pugs expertice. The difference is it will indeed take less time because “elitists” don’t get to kick me because my spec isn’t meta or rio scores and what not.

Why are you so afraid of LFG?

No, I’m not. I’ll still be matched with random people. The only difference is that people will be able to set up their own criteria. And that will save the trouble of people applying to multiple groups and to group leader having to browse through countless dps as soon as he lists the key.

By the looks of it, you are. The way the current system works is said criteria is already setup by the system. THe idea is to not be cherry picked by someone who wants certain classes with certain abilities because higher keys are “virtually impossible”. There is no applying to multaple groups, mate. It’s MM, it literally matches you to other people meeting the same criteria. It’s not just avoiding the constant applying to groups and denying. It’s skipping that altogether.

Your definition of matchmaking is too narrow. I’d never support a system that could only guarantee a >50% success rate by nerfing the content.

Best part is if you don’t want to use it, you can avoid it. No need for you to support it.

Yeah sure. Just like right now people queing for classic dungeon totally have agreed to run any random dungeon and totally won’t leave if they get into Uldaman. Or people queued for random epic bg will totally not leave if they get into attacking wintergrasp. Not at all. They agreed after all!

I play an arcane mage so don’t come to me talking about meta specs. Have you queued up for a random dungeon as a dd lately? It can take around 10-15 minutes, which no restrictions on the group whatsoever. Now add a system that is a lot more selective. Trying to make a group with a smaller pool of players who it thinks are all qualified for that dungeon and make a reasonable comp. Now add into it that somebody has to have offered a key for it, making the amount of accessible dungeons even lower.

Seriously just think about who is going to put their hand in the fire for such a system instead of listing their key up on lfg? Got a 15 key? There are tons of good rated players queuing up for it. Or you could put it in a random system and roll a dice. Wonder what most people will go with and how that will impact those small queue timers of yours.

I’m not, I use it regularly. Why are you afraid of it?

If you queue for random dungeon with random classes/specs and you expect a certain dungeon with only certain classes and certain specs the issue is with you. Leaving has a penalty and filling takes seconds literally.

Or it can take hours or you can fail to join one completely because of the current system, you know, the thing i was talking about? I don’t know why you’re arguing which system is better. Alot of people that are against mythic MM default to doing that.

I fail to see how you would think that considering im “pushing” for more of it. I know you’re trying to make a snarky comeback but still?

No the issue is with the queuing players that do that stuff. The ones you said won’t totally be toxic and do stuff like leave a key because there is an off meta spec in it. After all, elitists aren’t there and they are the only toxic ones right? There totally aren’t +5 keys in lfg demanding a fire mage or with “checking rio” in their description, right?

I’m sorry are you advocating for refilling players during an M+ run? Are you serious? That totally can’t have bad ramifications. What’s vote kick after all, right? Also I can’t count the amount of dungeons I’ve ran without a Tank because he left after the first boss and for the entire duration of it the system didn’t find us a new one. Oh but “filling takes seconds literally”.

Nothing snarky, just pointing out that the current system for M+ is lfg. So it’s just silly to go around asking people that are using that system why they are scared of it.

I was giving an example.

No, i never claimed they are the only toxic ones. They are more toxic in my opinion.

Again my suggestion gets rid of the rio scores for the people who don’t want to use them. Also no, i’ve never seen any (i just checked too). I even joined a +6 on my ilvl 180 dk and we cleared it.

Yes. If someone is toxic he should not be allowed to continue that run. I don’t know why thats so shocking to you. With filling that same tank you complain about left, you would get a new one. Wheres the issue?

You may think its silly and thats fine by me. In reality most people can’t answer that and instead project their negative experiences and put the blame where it suits them, completely missing the point of this thread.

It just goes around with circles with some people.

Matchmaking only works in places where team comp doesn’t matter. Any random tank, healer and 3 dps’s and it’s a go. M+ isn’t like that - team comp matters. Some weeks are huge healer tests and you absolutely need a great healer to even stand a chance. Some weeks punish stacking melee or ranged dps too much.

Generally speaking, the matchmaking works only for content that requires zero focus or player investment. M+ requires focus and player investment and those who aren’t willing enough to use the dungeon finder are easily filtered out and we don’t have to waste our time with them.

Because you say so, it seems.

I see you’re gating mythic pretty hard. I assume you can do LFR blindfolded since it requires zero focus?
Correct me if im wrong but you’re agaisn’t other people playing in a way you don’t want to because you think they can’t and/or should not? Thats the definition of gating. A really bad argument for not giving players the option to achieve what you have with “no focus” or investing more time than they potentionally need to. It’s absolutely unimaginable that players using MM could have focus or that they have invested time, right? I guess that depends on your personal standarts, huh. You know, the same ones you’re holding random people up to.

Just use the RDF tool and play heroics.

M+ is stupidly hard content. Not just because he says so. It is the system, since when you succeed you get a more difficult key. Till you can’t do it anymore.

Because both of you say so? Even if you can’t put it in words i understand what you mean. Calling it hard is stating the obvious and avoiding the questions.
It’s like if this was a discussion on the price of solar panels and you told me “The sun is hot.”

Your team comp doesn’t really matter until you’re beyond the max reward.

Ok, then it is not hard :man_shrugging:
I am avoiding nothing.

When you overgear, and have the interrupts for rebellion fists :stuck_out_tongue: Otherwise it is wipe and key done.

You have more than enough interrupts even if you would run 3 boomkins/shadow priests as the dps when doing 15 at most. The problem is the people who aren’t interrupting.

I tanked the first 3 bosses of LFR CN without ever seeing a guide or even knowing what they did.

Look, man. I have a history of filling M+ groups with randoms because the most important thing to me is to just get to playing as soon as possible. That works for a while, then you start noticing a pattern of specific failures. Then learning begins, you want to avoid them and realize, inviting randoms to even a +8 is absolutely not the way to go.

I still don’t check rio, but I pay mind to group comp.

Same. I assume most players did the same. That wasn’t blindfolded nor 0 focus tho.

And nobody is forcing you to do that or arguing MM will make it easier.
