So I can spend 200€ to buy WoW Tokens, sell them and gain 2 millionish and then find Booster Guild and get myself very high itemlevel? If I hit max level today and start buying these Tokens, how long you think it will take Boosters to boost me above itemlevel 450?
well you might still lose with 450 ilv gear, gear doesnt matter that much. some folks do myth raids with 425-435 gear even
What do u win exactly?
You cannot get any item, only available for real money, that is so ridiculously good that you have an unfair advantage.
So uhm…
you can get good gear with a good guild as well, me personally i need time to adjust to new gear especially azerite armor and new trinkets, to get the feel of the different mechanics involved, so its not time-gated unless you want it to be
Okay, so, you pay, you get carried, loot shower follows.
What then? When new raid comes, you pay again? Where does this end?
Not to mention…ppl who carry rely on their rep to get new customers. They offer discounts if you just write on forum how friendly and special they were while handling you. They make you feel like you’re a friend for the run.
But you are merely paying sheep to be fleeced and in reality they look down on the poor suckers that have to pay to play.
I would rather call that pay to lose, since you are just wasting your money to pay for something that you could get for free if you would be willing to put some effort into the game. You get 450 gear and then what? You can no longer progress or do anything relevant since you can’t get better rewards than what you already payed for.
No Im into PvP and will probably stop playing this character until next PvP season start. Im not going to buy Tokens for gear. Rather have PvP gear back, but its gone. Was just curious how the system works. But this game… I have only time to play PvP so doing PvE is an abolute no to me.
All online games are the same.
I put effort in the game when there was PvP vendors. I dont have time to do PvE so that I can do PvP. Will probably level up another class if I find something that looks fun to play. Class Trials have shown that many Classes have very glaring issues atm.
Disclaimer: I’ve never paid for a boost, I’m not sure how mechanics work.
I think it takes more than you probably think.
The gear system is based on drop chances and RNG, for example if you pay for a X+ KR run doesn’t mean you’ll get gear instantly.
Same goes for raids, your chance of getting 450 in one run is most likely zero; you need to remember, all raids have a lockout you can’t repeat them over and over.
You’ll not get BiS gear in one day, you can get it in a few week only if you’re extremely lucky.
If I may ask, what’s the purpose of getting carried? You pay someone else to do everything for you, you get your gear and then what? I don’t see the excitement of getting carried through content.
You see high numbers on your character page, but since you didn’t do any content seriously you don’t know how to proceed.
In my opinion there’s no reason to pay for something you can do for yourself.
Edit: misspellings.
Well tbh it depends on whats a win for you. Paying real money wont give you anything that other couldnt get without paying.
Also when pvp vendors were around, it did take long time to get full gear aswell as it is now, only difference was that you could just play pvp for a pvp… My point is …if you dont have time to run dungeon 30-40 min, how can you have time to grind honor in pvp for buying sonething from vendors?
And if you see a byuing boost as the only possible way how to gear up, then that gear would not help you in any content anyway. Imo.
its pay to progress faster wich should not be a thing in a subscription game but yea… bli$$ard wants your money… all of it.
I’m not sure there’s an actual winning criteria in WoW. People tend to formulate their own goals and objectives to pursue.
I do remember the former Game Director for Diablo III, Jay Wilson, who prior to the release of the game spoke about a design difference between Diablo and WoW. I think he said that WoW rewards the raider, Diablo rewards the trader. The implied meaning being that Diablo had a history of revolving around trading, and the best and most powerful items usually ended up in the hands of the best traders. WoW on the other hand has had a history of raiding, and the best raiders have always ended up with the best and most powerful items.
The irony of it all today, is that Diablo III has no real trading anymore and actually rewards those who play the game at the highest difficulties, whereas WoW has increased its emphasis on trading, and the players who excel at trading in WoW, they’re the ones who are able to reap most of the game’s rewards.
The classic definition of Pay to Win is: To gain any gameplay advantage over non-paying peers.
Since so many games are violating it these days, people just shifted the goalpost. I’m not sure if there even is such a thing as P2W anymore.
The funniest quote I read in such debates was:“P2W doesn’t exist because you play for fun and you can’t pay for fun.”
Why would you look down on them? I have very rarely sold a boost or two in past and I didn’t care much about them. They wanted that content and I provided that content - I never questioned why they would want it or their ability / inability to achieve the content by themselves.
I haven’t been deep into the business because I don’t qualify to sell for any of the large / reputable boosting communities, but I have occasionally downgraded my own key and sold it in /2 with a couple of guildies. I can assure you, we didn’t “look down” on anyone.
I don’t know and I don’t care which circumstance has led them to paying for a carry. And I don’t look down on someone because of a transaction. Also, I doubt many boosters do.
But as I said, me selling a boost is an once-in-a-while thing. Surely hasn’t happened for a couple of months already. I might not have the full insight.
Above 450? Unlikely considering 2m isn’t even half of a full mythic boost. Unless you want to buy a heroic or m+ boost over and over again hoping for TF which probably still won’t put you above 450 before you’ve spent your 2m. Scenarios like yours are mostly just pay to lose
Because they suck and have to pay to even get near. Mainly the paying part tho.
What do u win exactly?
Cupcakes
Oooh i want cupcakes, should go grab some tokens then
