I’m writing to share some feedback regarding the recent 20-man raid format in the Sunken Temple (SoD) raid content in World of Warcraft. As a dedicated player and a part of the WoW community, I want to express my thoughts on this matter.
Firstly, I want to acknowledge the incredible work that goes into creating new raid content. The design and encounters are truly impressive and provide a thrilling challenge for players of all skill levels.
However, I’d like to advocate for a return to 10-man raid formats, or at least provide more flexibility in raid group sizes. Here’s why:
Accessibility for Casual Players: The shift to 20-man raids in SoD has made it more challenging for casual players like myself to experience and complete all the raid content. Coordinating larger groups, especially through PUGs, can be daunting and time-consuming. Many of us have limited playtime and rely on smaller, more manageable groups to progress.
PUG Difficulty and Completion Rates: With 20-man raids, the reliance on PUGs has increased significantly. While some players excel in this environment, many struggle due to coordination issues, varying skill levels, and differing expectations. This often results in incomplete or unsuccessful raids, leaving players frustrated and dissatisfied.
Previous Manageability: Reflecting on previous raid seasons with 10-man formats, the experience felt more manageable for casual and semi-hardcore players alike. It struck a better balance between challenge and accessibility, fostering a more positive raiding environment.
I believe that offering a choice in raid group sizes or considering a return to 10-man formats would greatly benefit the WoW community. It would enhance accessibility, promote more successful PUG experiences, and ultimately create a more enjoyable raiding atmosphere for players across all skill levels.
I’m confident that I’m not the only player who shares this sentiment. Many within the community value the opportunity to engage with raid content in a way that suits their playstyle and availability.
Thank you for considering this feedback. I’m eager to hear your thoughts on this matter and hopeful for potential adjustments in future raid content.
If you can’t handle 20mans now, what was your plan for 40 mans?
If you can’t handle 40mans, why on earth did you sign up for ‘Classic’? No, don’t say ‘SEasOn OF DisCOVerY Is NoT CLAssIc!’, it is. It is designed on the classic game with Classic players in mind, every update has included the words ‘we wanted to keep the classic feeling’.
20 man raid in ST is fine and easy. We combined forces with another guild and have 3 raid going in there and have more people on bench ready for if some cant make it.
If you cant do 20 forget 40 man. How did you people even do 25 man and 40 man raids in the past? Or did you all just now start playing this 20 year old game LOL
Fix you caps bro its not working. Tbh it doesnt really matter what its designed on. And it doesnt matter what they are saying. You seem to be the person who is easily fooled. Watch at actions. There is nothing classic-feeling in what they are doing with classes, events, reputation and raids. Its miles from vanilla, even TBC is closer to vanilla than SoD. SoD is a season based - retail WoW designed to be cheap cash grab, but as long as its fun its ok. Stop calling it classic
Thats the point, most ppl who play it are the ones who played it 20 years ago. And most of these ppl who are now 30-40-50, will not waste same time levelling (new spells speed up a lot, xp buffs, events), farming reps (events) or forming 40ppl raids as in vanilla. They probably had an idea of 40s in the start just because it would require way less develop time but after the success of 10s in ph1 and 2, they decided to settle on middle ground. Also judging from their post where they ask for ideas for ph4 spells its obvious they didnt have anything planned and set in stone for lvl 60 and just make it on the go
20 ST maybe literally lowered number of players sod has it was really fun to do 10 mans with but 20 mans literally made players more elitist this phase you can imagine if they drop 40 man it will be literally impossible to pug
Bro its not classic, the spells are from cata wdym and yes 10 man its better than 20 or god forbit 40, the only reason most of the players quit is bcs of that
