I’m told it was because of the PvP racials mostly, as the blues got theirs heavily nerfed, like the human racial only removes stuns now. Too bad, they do have a few good ones, like DI dwarf’s fireblood is almost as strong as a good on-use trinket, or the LF draenei’s aoe, with which I could do up to 4-5% of my total dps on some keys (most racials are supposed to give ~1% bonus damage).
Of course, the AoE silence removal hurt us a lot as well.
Im certainly a tauren because i love them. Not at all because my arena partners are horde and i have poop, crap and dung to choose from when it comes to races.
Wheres my undead paladin. (But really i want dwarf).
No, let the passion for the Demand die. I don’t want the war, sole core of this franchise for years and years. Die just so people can play more with their Ally buddies and communicate
We can have factions, story wise and lore wise, in the game and still have PLAYERS be able to play together. There’s many options to make that a thing.
Here’s one such option, just off the top of my head:
Let people have 2 versions of their character(s). 1 alliance version, 1 horde version. You choose your ‘primary’ faction/race combo and out in the world and just regularly doing what you do, you’ll default to THAT chosen race and faction.
Now, a creator of a group or raid (or its leader) decides whether its a Horde group or an Alliance group. This can’t be changed once the dungeon or raid or pvp match or whatever is under way. When you join that group, your character will revert to whichever race you set for the faction of the group automatically.
In other words; groups and raids will still only be 1 faction. And as such factions will still be a thing. But as a PLAYER you are able to join both.
No, it’s really not. It’s removing THE BARRIER between the factions.
Hell, with my example they could even have a special button for ‘purists’ that you could toggle: Only accept invites and results for my primary faction.
I really don’t get why something like this would bother you.
Always good too see so much discussion about such an important topic, even if it will be gone in a few days.
People who are fine with mercenary status in PvP, but aren’t fine with cross-faction PvE are smooth brains. Cross-faction PvE makes much more sense from a lore POV
Of all the decisions this game has done wrong the past few years, not allowing cross-faction is the worst of all. They could toggle it within a few days and make a massive amount of money from people race-changing back to their favourite races
That sort of content is an offer of gameplay WoW is making, nothing more. A shocking notion, i suppose, but how about respecting that Alliance players dont want to do it? If you are unhappy get on your bike and play Horde.
I watched the interview with Ion as well. We already know from private servers that enabling cross-faction PvE is a database toggle, where 95% of the work is done in a few hours worth of system updating.
I do have the feeling that they are planning to do it, and might even have had it planned shadowlands release (bfa 8.3 storyline?) but somehow didn’t do it anyway.
I can’t help but feel they are just dragging it out for a ‘rainy day’ situation, where they know it’ll be a gargantuan success but they need a very low point before they want to intruduce it. 9.1.5? 9.2? 10.0? Who knows. Fact is that every second of them not enabling it is them ACTIVELY saying that “Hey, we DON’T care about The Alliance”. They shouldn’t be applauded when they finally enable it, but alas, they will
