Its new accounts not characters. And boters make new accounts the second one gets banned and people who buy gold make new accounts to not risk their main. Thats how it fight bots, it both makes it so that the bots take atleast a month before they can unload their gold and it makes it so that people have less of a incentive to spin up a new account to be able to hide their rule breaking somewhere else.
Completely new players are less likely to pick up SoD than someone who knows someone that already plays it and seeing as you can accept trades from others just not trade away stuff new players can still get things like bags and such from their friends.
Players like me use an auction character so that wonāt work on two counts, no AH and no mailing.
btw they can make gold using the AH, if you do a miniscule amount of research or played the game before you know what sells well on the AH for a few gold, this stops people from doing that.
Customer support didnāt even know what was really going onā¦
First they told us to log out 12 hours and clear cache, wtf file and interface file to reset.
Than they said it was a bug because it was not intended for CLASSIC ERA and the developers were working on a hotfix to fix the problem.
Next someone found a US Forum discussion where a developer said it really was intended for classic era and they left players in the dark during several days to monitor.
Than customer changed direction. They didnāt know what the hell was going on.
In the mean time we are all screwed by blizzard fanatasy solutions to botsā¦
These bot companies make thousands and tens of thousands of dollars from selling gold, and they really expect they canāt buy accounts, wait for 30 days and start botting.
Even if they bot without the social features they will still have a decent amount of gold to sell after the 30 days expire.
This is just ridiculous to punish PAYING customers who just want to enjoy the game for a problem blizzard should solve just by letting real gamemasters play again in the live world so they can spot and check bots for themselves. But that requires investment and everything has to be cheap so thereās a max profit for the shareholdersā¦
They just punish the normal gamers and cash all of the money the bot companies now spent to buy backup accounts to start botting again when the first month is consumed.
Maximum profit and after 30 days all of us that are complaining now will forget and start gaming again. Double profit.
It encourages new players buying gold even more, because they canāt buy anything for legit gold they earned, so only way to get any items is buy gold on some website and say seller to send items for this gold amount instead. Yes also maybe they have good friends that can send them stuff for free but letās be real, for 90% of new players those āfriendsā are 3rd party websites.
What is it called? I think this is called the starter version, when you canāt trade or transfer things! Itās just a scam. I have already created tickets for a refund and canceled my subscription, well done Blizzard, keep it up
As someone impacted by this, I donāt believe this is true. Thereād be no reason to buy gold because thereās almost nothing to spend it on. I currently have 168g just from questing alone, which is crazy since I have to vendor all items I find. Maybe it would have helped at the very start but even then, I donāt believe people think about buying gold when they first start in a game.
I think I am giving up hope on this being resolved any time in the next 2 weeks. Really hope the devs find a way to fix it for legit players, it just really, really sucks at the moment
You donāt see the point. If you are restricted from trading you canāt spend your gold for anything except of vendor items. For example if you need some mana potions or other consumables for the raid you canāt buy them even if they are cheap. You canāt buy any cheap boe gear also. So only way to get it for you (even if it is very cheap and you have 200g in your bags) is buy gold on 3rd party website and say seller to send items for this amount of gold instead. Becuase all gold you have is useless you can spend it only for vendor items.
Personally I think that Blizzard messed up as somehow the hardcore restrictions have leaked over to all the other types of game on the same launcher due to a failed update and Blizzard are backpedalling to claim itās āon purposeā.
And they canāt fix it so itās a ātrialā until they can.
I donāt think so because it is applied only to new accs (and as i know, currently fixed on all older then 1 month accouns so they can trade again) so i donāt think that it is random part of code from hc.
Yes they found an abuse and it is very simple. Create new WoW2 acc on same bnet with banned WoW1 acc (if WoW1 was payed 30 days ago or more then no trade restricts on other accs on same bnet even if WoW1 banned) . And itās not insta linked ban for some reason btw.
