This has nothing to do with casual vs hardcore. If you think sitting 80% of the time in the LFG tool is good content, you are detached from reality, and you also have a huge missconception: It’s ok, if a reward is only for a small percentage of players, but the reward needs to be something, that everyone works towards. If nobody plays 3v3, it’s useless to put it in there and balance the game around 3v3
The rating system that is used for arena doesn’t work well for solo shuffle and should be tweaked.
Solo Shuffle is low IQ arena, it can be beyond frustrating due to many different factors. Everyone I know has stopped playing it, it’s also sucked people away from other brackets of arena.
IMO, it’s a mess. Especially for specs that aren’t FoTM and require more teamplay orientated game to thrive. You don’t get the help you need, it’s a zerg that requires zero skill.
The main reasons why nobody plays 3s right now is imo, in this order:
- Accessibility: With the horrible LFG tool it’s very hard to find groups. They finally need to put some effort into creating something useful here
- Solo Shuffle inflation: Ratings in Shuffle are massively inflated already
- 2s/3s deflation: Ratings in normal brackets are massively deflated
2 and 3 kinda go hand in hand. It is much easier to get the rewards from Shuffle than it is from 3s. It’s also a circle, since both lead to even less people playing 3s, which continuously makes the issue worse.
With a better LFG, there would’ve been no need for Shuffle in the first place. Don’t get me wrong, the mode itself is fine, but it’s an entirely different thing than organized, coordinated 3v3. As such, it should not get the same high end rewards, just like with RBGs.
Reworking the LFG-tool should be their absolute #1 priority right now, not moving all the rewards from an otherwise fine bracket to the PvE zuzug lottery that is Shuffle.

- is it sinking in yet Blizzard?
unemployed people pushing 30s speaking about making friends and laziness, cracks me up x
- FOTM/Specc are too important and gatekeeping participation
give it 7 years
thats less it took get soloq from where ppl began asking it
i got old waiting blizzard fix their game
how is this not an issue in solo shuffle too?
the same specs outclassed in 3v3 are also massively outclassed in solo shuffle especially with RNG lobbies having no guarantee ur spec has something playable in the game whereas at least in 3v3 you can pick and choose the best comp you have available (like enh shaman picking their only good comp, turbo cleave, for the past 10 years)
better yet for healers where it’s more a game of “my healer vs enemy healer” than “my comp vs enemy comp” and you get disc priests being half the ladder making it super fun to queue up as hpala where half your kit is now useless and none of your teammates will acknowledge it and play around MD and purges existing
That in SS you can play, whereas in 3s nobody will play with you voluntarily I don’t speak about A or B specs in the Tier, I speak about everything below that A-Tier.
Someone playing a Monk Tank can play SS, will never reach a high rating because the specc is cr4p, but he can at least play. Nobody will play with him in 3s.
It is more probable that such people can just pick up the SS queue and play arena, improving participation overall. Even if the LFG part of 3s would be improved, such people would not get invited. Therefore, I’m sure that SS makes it easier to allow everyone to play the class/specc they want.
Solo shuffle is fine. It is the way. Soloqueue RBGs are welcome aswell, but alongside solo shuffle. It only needs to be balanced properly, and 3v3 balance needs to be the sacrificial lamb for solo shuffle balance. This is the way. The pros will figure their balance out anyway, and it will make their esports tournaments more fun to watch, if it’s more chaotic with weird balance. Maybe the future of wow esports should gravitate towards RBGs anyway rather than 3v3.
It’s pretty funny how some people are getting their first in their life 1800,2100 and 2400 in shuffle and think this is equal to getting those in other brackets.
Get a grip on reality. Shuffle is inflating itself so fast that at this point 2.4 games are full of maximum experience 1.7 players in older expansions, and you can’t expect elementary gameplay things such as healers pressing a dispel or overall healers/dpses pressing their defensives.
As someone with a lot of characters, the real competitive games in shuffle where people start playing properly currently start out above 2.8 rating.
Nobody is stopping you from enjoying yourself after a long day at work to queue it. Go ahead. Just remember something people. If you are invited to an LFG group and then kicked, look at yourself first and your own mistakes. It’s easy to write off people as toxic when oftentimes its your own fault games are lost and the reason why people disband the group or kick you. As everything else on the Internet, it’s always somebody else’s fault and you are always the victim of toxic high ego people.
If you’ve played a total of 25 rated 3v3 games before giving up on the bracket across multiple expansions, your opinion doesn’t matter. Go play your solo shuffle, enjoy yourself, and let people who play the other bracket discuss it.
as there is no own section for soloq people will use arena to discuss about soloq that is just obvious
and as all pvp related in wow also has been more or less replaced with arena tdm format, also all pvp related is discussed on arena
if u look at any other section on forum for pvp theyre all dead and arena is only one people use generally for all pvp related
and now to think of this u came into a post specifically about soloq and now ur telling them to go play soloq and let people who enjoy 3v3 discuss their 3v3 on this post
this makes zero sense
I mean, it’s solo arena shuffle, so where else should we talk?;p
idk mate
im just trying connect with people playing pvp on dead game in even less deded format
weird if wouldnt be allowed talk about soloq on thread made about soloq
Zaggra if u got sub left check mail on raven
Solo shuffle is also arena. It just requires a different skill. In normal arena your skill is to play RMP 5 million games vs the same comps. In solo shuffle the quality of the games are lower, but it requires you to think more and be creative. There are less “rules” to follow and it’s more wild. One skill is not really superior than the other, since it’s just a video game in the end, and solo shuffle is also skillful. It tests your reactions, and quick thinking. If it wasn’t skillful, and just rng, you wouldn’t have people like whaaz getting rank 1s on all their alts
Requires you to think more? Solo shuffle is praying to God your team doesn’t sabotage your game or die without pressing buttons until you reach more decent mmr. Your arguement is beyond invalid. A long time good 3v3 player will easily be at a high rating in Shuffle. The opposite does not apply. I’ve seen 2.4 rogues, warriors, dhes,ww monks, bm hunters in shuffle with VERY negative score in every single other bracket. Coincidence? And why would you bring Whazz up? Did Whazz get his first high rating in Shuffle? LMAO
Face it. The game mode is a clownfiesta centered around which team has more pressure each round primarily off their PvE dmg rotation. Or if people identify one really bad player in the lobby and farm him every game.
also keep in mind that people in BC and early WotLK played like absolute trash, with voice chat etc
rss will evolve just like they did
Nah, solo shuffle rating measures individual skill. The only reason it’s a little bit unprecise in lower rating is that the meta is tuned too much around 3v3 compositions.
Playing chess for 10 years doesn’t improve skill, but playing chess with different rules every time does.
