The deserter debuff is designed to penalise players who ruin matches for others by leaving; having them choose between staying or not being able to play at all for a bit.
Thousands of posts here suggest premades ruin matches for solo queuers- so the debuff in this context penalises players who don’t want to play a ruined match.
Solution: if you enter a match solo v a pre-made there is no debuff if you leave. Premaders get the pleasure of only fighting those who want to play them; we get the pleasure of never playing them if we don’t want to. Win win!
Indeed you could increase the debuff for solo v solo play and pre-made v pre-made play if you like to compensate.
It should be max 2 or no group que at all in randoms. And it should be a que up as leader, with some sort of measuring if you are indeed a good leader.
First is legit yes but unfair when there is no balance between team powers. It’s ruining game mode since forcing people to stop playing game instead of getting farmed 7/24 especially on weekends.
Try rated or wargames. Same fun and you can do it with friends. You can’t stomp on randoms for an easy win of course but we all have to make sacrifices.
You’re not making friends, all the posts about premades and peoples hatred for it shows that. Take your 4 friends, go in group finder to find more friends, then queue for RBG’s.
They are not hating premade because they hate premades
They hate premade because they don’t like losing
Random Battlegrounds always been for premade since it birth
It’s just some players that started to spread misinformation because we can queue it solo it must be a solo mode when it is not one at all
Those some players are just people that are not accepted inside premade due to their behavior and can’t make easely friends so instead of admiting they need to change themself they go on the forums complaining that they lost a game and yelling “ITS NOT FAIR LOOK MY TEAM LOSE ENNEMIE TEAM WON”
Look true story here:
Someone who queue premade win, he will be blamed that he won because of premade
Someone who usually queue premade queue alone, he will still be blamed and accused he won because of premade
even myself i used to queue full solo random bg back then, that doesn’t mean i was unable to win versus premade, in fact i did win versus premade.
The difference is when you will notice that the game premade your premade versus you choosing your premade
People who complain against premade always use the argument of “yea but you choose the exp of the players in your premade while the unranked systems do’t bother with that”.
Look i’m pretty sure you have won against premade without you ever noticing it.
It just a question of perspective at this points, some call “high rated” Duellist or 2400 rating. For me high rated is 2780 rating.
When i see premade of duellist/2400 rating players i am not yelling “OH NOE WE WILL LOSE” (i may lose the game i may win the game ofc) but imy opinion don’t change between the 2100 exp premade and the 2400 exp premade since someone with more exp will see it blur and can still win against them.
However people that usually complain are often players that are like 1400-1800 exp max, ofc they keep loosing game a lot like 25% because not only at their exp they have 50% winrate at their rating but also 1600 rating represent only 50% of the whole ladder, that mean they have only 25% winrate !
25% WINRATE ?
Number ringing a bell?
Yea that the average complainer of the forums against premade winrate in random battlegrounds !
Because for them any team better that his team must be a premade and when that complainer win he will say “pure skill”
So those complainer instead of seeking improvement how to play better, watching video on youtube / looking at twitch stream how to play better since their have a huge ego with low pvp experience they will prefer to go on the forums yelling around “Please blizzard i don’t want to make effort to improve myself or socialise myself please can you do the jobs for me” when it is clearly not a blizzard issue there but a low exp with a big ego that can’t take a loss in UNRANKED BATTLEGROUND when unranked loss don’t mean squat since you don’t lose anything compared to ranked where you lose point and are further away from the reward you wish to get.
So of course they is way more complainer on the forums than player that are glad World of Warcraft is a good way to make friend and socialise while playing their favorite content. It is the same in Real Life when you hear more from unhappy people than happy people because happy tend way less to write forum post than a unhappy angry ego touched going on the forums complaining (since i am around on the wow forums since BFA the only positive thread are found in Community > General Discussion but in the PVP sections despite the huge amount of post complainer wrote 98% of angry post and then wonder why PvP devs no longer communicate there (look in the history how many players complained at Holinka when now he’s gone people deeply miss him).
I can now return you the favor by saying " Take your angry post, go solo queue in solo battlegrounds blitz so you avoid premaders and you can finally see that premade or no premade you will still lose games
in fact if you check leaderboard on high ranked players you will see they got the same winrate in ranked than in unranked bg, so once you will be playing ranked will you be also writting forums post to the rank #1 rated leaderboard that he should take himself to war games only too ?
It’s not about taking a loss per se in an unranked match at all.
It’s about a gaming experience where consistently, match after match, you can watch situations where Honor Kills climb 10-1, 20-1 then 30-1 and above in ratio, and where number of deaths in your team goes 1, 5, 10 where the other team consistently has zero deaths per player.
That’s not a loss, that’s just a fundamental malfunction in playing experience for everyone.
I’ve been playing unrated since WOTLK. Im not a good player - too old for that -but I like the game and like the pvp experience. Something’s fundamentally changed. It was never play 10 matches and get destroyed 30-1 HK rate where the other team has maybe 1 death between all of them.
It’s called the snowball effect
A 10v10 become a 10v9 , 1 player death that make difference on the teamfight
10v9 become 10v8, 2 players missing the 10 party player is hardly CC’ed and the 8 player burns CDs hard and are being CC
10v8 become a 10v6 since the losing team healer is being mass CC and no longer have CD + mana start getting low
10v6 become 10v4, catastrophies not only one of the healer is dead, but the other one is missing all cds and no mana left
Respawn happen, but one of the healer didn’t died before and die, making you 10v6 with one healer less and that how you reach the graveyard mass farming the ennemie team
That snowball effect even happen on ranked , and always existed and it will be fool to not do it because that snowball effect allow you to carry games.
The winning team say otherwise
been like that since TBC and it didn’t changed, i never nearly taken pause and the snowball effect always existed.
What changed however is that instead of having top player from ranked descending to random while waiting for queue because at top ranked BG (at least blitz) if you don’t have healer you can sit on your queues easely for 30-45 minute without a game proccing, of course like every other players people want to play so between 45 minutes queues and 5 minutes queues for the same result obviously people take the 5 minute one and can continue to enjoy the game
If there would be more incensitive to play RBG and BG blitz like a version of glad mount in RBG depending on the % of the ladder yea majority good players leave the random battlegrounds for the ranked one and the “random battlegrounds” become more like skirmishes arena.
But until there’s more reward and incensitive to play ranked BG people will choose the fast queues over the rated one
Nor because they like killing noobs, since ranked don’t bother them, but the queue too long in ranked push them in random one
PS: if blizz would had set dementrius mythic mount on RBG , everyone would had played ranked and left random bg for beginner 100% sure
I don’t think it’s just what you call the snowball effect as prior to people leaving the HK and kill ratio still spirals in favour of the premade.
Honestly I don’t think “the winning team say otherwise” is good enough.
It minimalises literally thousands of posts from players fed up or leaving. If I and some random middle aged dad bod types like myself showed up on the village green to play some friendly rugby and the other team was a league ranked set of professionals rather than a few other random guys looking for fun, we would be annihilated. We would rightly think it was a malfunction of the matching system. And we’d rightly question why they thought it was appropriate or even basically dignified to show up just to destroy random people for kicks.
PvP isn’t fun anymore, it is just premades vs randoms all the time, people complaint, but nothing is done, all you can do is go find a nice place to go AFK and hope you lose before you get kicked for being AFK
They banned that kind of premades in Classic, because Blizzard evolved a bit. And in Retail there are options for groups, but most groups don’t like them because they had to play good and not roll over noobs.
I never understood why beating people that can’t compete is fun. Maybe it’s severe brain damage or just idiocy.
That’s the same kind of behaviour of those level 60 people camping level 25-30 in classic and ganking them over and over just on a larger scale.
