Solving World PvP! Flag them for a PvP layer

Because of all the meatgrinders, camping flight paths and what not, make a seperate layer for those who tag into World PvP and let them abuse that there for a while, in that layer please do not spawn things such as herbalism, mining or something as it might get abused.

does anyone feel the same way?

perhaps a hot-take, but this is miles better than having layering in the game

This isnt some weird baby game where PvP doesnt mean PvP.

you can’t do any activities as you did before, now there are death squadrons of both factions everywhere

oh wow lol that really is just like war mode good point

you’re so arrogant and blinded by those honor points and gear that you can’t look the reality of the state of the game.

join a death squadron?

It sucks. Other MMOs are far more hazardous to traverse through. This is an older game, with proper MMO values.

I know that one layer is the best idea for an open world scenario, but are there any other ways to fix this? People who play the game for a few hours won’t even be able to do stuff that they want to do and will just leave the game

Dunno man, theres a limit on what should and could be changed.

Maybe they should leave?

That method sounds really familiar, being able to toggle your PvP on and off? Hmmm where have I heard that before?

Oh yeh! PvE servers!!!

Let’s face it, there is no world pvp that “vanilla guys” were painting it to be. This is just like retail, people are grouping up and min maxing whatever honor they can squeeze. I’m all okay with min maxing but don’t say that wpvp is like those videos of 2004-2006 videos display it to be. Only thing better with classic pvp is the system itself being easily more rewarding. All I’m seeing in Hillsbrad is a back and forth battle, only the ones who dismount being killed along with a few brave ones who carry the others who are mounted up in the back “farming honor”.

What are you talking about, the people who are highest on the standing will be those who were solo.

Those guys are doing what they think is fun clearly. If you see streamers doing it, then its obvious they are afraid of being stream sniped.

There’s nothing wrong with people not trying to rank up but doing group pvp like in hillsbrad all day. Pushing from one side to the other is a simple form of fun…

If that is fun for them that’s good, they are finding enjoyment! But I wonder how many are actually finding it fun. I don’t really reference streamer content in cases like these because they are very biased toward a “controlled environment” so to speak, they will always have people around them protecting them so it’s understandable they have big groups.

What I mean is that I expected some form of better quality world pvp than for instance 40 hordes hordes camping Thorium Point or vise versa. That’s more or less exactly the same as on retail: camping flight points. So people saying that wpvp is sooo much different in vanilla, I genuinely don’t understand where they get that from.

(I have to specify this to people with only a few brain cells: I play classic more or less only, just have the avatar saved from my retail char because I always posted from this char).

I’ve seen everything, from 20+ people raids riding across the whole map not letting grass grow like Attila to solo hunters, opportunistic ambushers on ships or in tunnels and so on.

Just last Sunday I was fishing in an island in the middle of nowhere in Azshara when a frostbolt interrupted me; when I looked up there was a shaman, a priest and a mage water walking I barely managed to walk away from alive, and I doubt they were there to catch squid.

Which is a good thing imo. The world finaly feels dangerous.

Like yeah groups camping certain areas can for sure be annoying but the reason it happens isn’t always that simple. Most people will be in that group for their own reasons; from revenge, safety and even to cause as much frustration to the opposite side as possible.

Is not the best but the more time that passes the more people will treat wpvp like an every day thing rather than the constant grinds you see.

Edit: If honor was available at launch this wouldnt be an issue, the whole experience to 60 would have been full of pvp but by this time we will be more wary of constantly battling.

I feel that you should reroll on a PvE server.

the issue is that pvp players dont want to have it fixed. thats why some went there for world pvp without layering like we have in retail.

you know, there are pve servers. just start over and be happy chicken
