The purpose of this post is to ask Blizzard to do something about the unfortunate situation on Quel’Serrar EU.
I speak on behalf of all the people from this realm who are a part of the English Non-Hardcore community. The cards that we as players were dealt were not ideal. Most of the people on this realm are either Hardcore R2R players or are French/German. A good amount of us have put in a considerable amount of both time and effort and have even taken days off work in order to be able to give ourselves a head start in terms of levelling, However, there are no longer any guilds at all with the goal of clearing Molten Core, aside from those formed by the Hardcore community. I will refrain from calling Quel’Serrar a “dead server” because that simply isn’t true. However, it does feel that way to us English non-HC players.
I have a few suggestions that might work for Blizzard:
Create a realm specifically designed for Hardcore players as they represent a great deal of SoM’s community, and then merge Quel’Serrar with Kingsfall. Any players from either of these who want to play Hardcore can move to the new realm that is specifically designed for them. This way all parties concerned end up being happy because HC players get a space for themselves, and non-HC people either get an injection of more players into their community (on Kingsfall’s side) or they have their time saved by not having to reroll on a different realm (on Quel’Serrar’s side).
Introduce a free migration option for the players on Quel’Serrar. This would save the time that players there have invested into their characters instead of forcing them to reroll elsewhere, while still leaving the Hardcore community as is. It also spares Blizzard the need to open another realm.
Introduce a paid character transfer service more quickly. Of course from a player’s standpoint that is the worst of all three options because of having to pay for it, but I personally am more than happy to pay 25 bucks in order to save 40 hours (which is essentially the equivalent of one whole working week).
I think that all three of these options are viable and make a good amount of sense, because of SOM’s pace. Because the cycle is only one year for all phases of the Classic Era, a move like this would really help because it would allow some people to, for instance, clear Molten Core during week 2, rather than week 3.
Of course, this post speaks purely for the EU side of things. I am not aware how other regions are doing in this regard, but if there are similar situations happening there, one of these three solutions could possibly be applicable there too.
This might be a huge amount of copium, but i still feel like the horde side is doing okay, we have atleast 1 big guild who will be clearing molten core and possibly more.
With that being said i agree with the post and the solution to create new hardcore servers and merge quel’serrar with kingsfall. It would be a huge boost to players and give the server some more life for those of us not playing hardcore.
Quel’serrar is already the lowest populated realm and when 50% of them are going HC there isn’t going to be any end game.
That’s absolutely fine. I think it makes it even better because if Blizzard go with a realm merge, it will unite the German communities AND the English communities together and increase their numbers. And the way I see it, numbers are the problem at the moment.
Personally, I wanted to start on Quel’Serar. But after counting only 550 horde players in the evening, I went to Kingsfall. I think 1 PVE server will be enough in the long run. A lot of people will quit in the next few weeks. Free transfers from QS to KF would be the best solution.
I rolled on Quel’Serrar and basically wasted 2 days of leveling. The server seems to be mainly HC people who can’t group with me and my friends (non hc players) we did not know that this server would be a HC server.
There are no PVE non HC guilds at all recruiting on the realm discord and it just seems empty everywhere even on Alliance side.
We will be rerolling on Kingsfall later today but kind of disappointed we wasted 2 full days of launch hype to now start behind everyone else. Blizzard really did a terrible job splitting the community even further apart with this HC bullsh*t not being able to play together.
I think the only thing Blizzard did wrong was to not give HC players their own servers. Otherwise it’s great of them to acknowledge the entire community by adding in that buff.
Hopefully they do something soon so that we non-HC players who rolled on Quel’Serrar can have our time saved. A lot of us do really need that.
The problem is that you are used to having only the Germans/French players on EN EU servers, who actually want to play there and are willing to speak English. And now you just have all of them. And there are a lot. Many are used to speaking their own language in WoW and they just keep doing so, even in public channels. I personally don’t and think it’s not very polite, but Germans and French alike can be kind of stubborn in this regard, it seems.
That being said, I hope, they open free transfers from QS for you!
Man, a ‘Soul of iron’-only realm would be so awesome. Imagine how rare and valuable high level items would be. Who you would know everybody at level 60 and how exciting the 5man dungeons with randoms would become. But those randoms are not spoon-fed they have made it to 60 as well and play wisely together as a team to do the dungeon without a death.
No, that is the admins/creators of the challenge, not Blizzard. An honestly stupid rule and restriction to an MMO game. Grouping should be allowed since duos and trios are a thing anyway.
Many german-speaking players wanted to have a german-only server. I don‘t speak just about gernan players because with Switzerland (me), Austria and Germany you have 3 german-speaking countries.
According to the german forum they‘re many people wo still can‘t speak or write proper English and are „forced“ on a EU Server in which English seems to be the norm. I think it‘s a bit far fetched to expect everyone can speak English….on the other hand can you speak German? It‘s still not our mothertongue. So please don‘t misjudge the situation - being rude doesn‘t always have be the intention of the players since some may not be capable to speak english.
Please keep that in mind - otherwise I really enjoyed the post few days on Kingsfall and think we all get along together more than just fine<3
I absolutely wanted that, too. I am a German speaking player. I was just trying to explain why there are so many German and French speaking players around all of a sudden. And besides Germany, Switzerland and Austria, you even have small German speaking minorities in other European countries, plus people who know German better than English, who usually play on German speaking servers.
There you are right. I should have phrased that differently. But I do know for a fact that there are players who could, but still won’t.
No doubt. The PVE server crowd is pretty nice and should do fine. I’ve been having fun.
Quel’Serrar is the worst mmorpg experience you will get if you do not participate into HC on there. You can’t group up for anything. Literally all the people doing HC there. No communication outside of that either. Just change the server it’s not worth it and level on Kingsfall
Since they are HC and try to get to 60 (or even Rag) and not die trying they mostly avoid grouping with others since a bad pull might cause a dead, wich forces them to delete the charr and start over.
This is just down to the rules the HC community follows. I don’t know all of them but
