Some things are sadly not always meant to be, especially not after the sad “changes” to Ahn’Qiraj 40 bosses, as it was a big bummer, no big difference to be rather honest, just a few tweaks and that was it. - So i am skipping out, as i lost faith in SoM, that’d be correct. - So what i’d love to see, is that we get some options, such as leaving if wished, and if not, then do nothing 
I will also point out, none of those options are able to satisfy what i and many other wish, as we want to bring out SoM characters further in, and not being able to, is a mistake, as many would be left behind by November, and no point in playing Wotlk Classic.
It’s good point though, but i will say, some things they’ve gathered in SoM, which they didn’t in TBC Classic, that they have of intention and wish to bring into Wotlk Classic, which is 100% understandable.

Why not? But only when the right time comes. People who created characters on SoM knew beforehand that they are going to end on Classic Era. Blizzard gave em sudden opportunity to carry on their characters to progression realms, that was never promised originally, but didn’t stated when it will happen.
So I gave that player options based on information we have currently.
Just logged in to all the realms on SoM, did a /who (sometimes more than 1, each result less than 50 and used an addon, manually scanning) and scanned the AH, these are the results:
