Read the thread. I explained myself already and fell no need to justify mysef to you… I have no idea why you are chiming in with that. Seriously.

I made some claims and can’t back them up without admitting I said wrong things.
So basically you just realized you said some things that werent very smart and instead of admitting that you double down and throw a tantrum, gotcha.
Hey there, I haven’t read all the comments, but if no one mentioned it, there are great mythic plus communities with friendly players who do not tolerate toxicity.
Here’s one: https://discord.com/invite/mythicplusfriends
Atari 800XL? You’re nought but a cub. When I were a lad I got up 4 hours before I went to bed, to play on my Atari 2600 VCS, so I could beat Asteroids before I went down t’ pit, before school. But we were 'appy.
Some poetic license there, but my 2600 was real.
But it isn’t a fact, a fact is something based on the truth, not anecdotal evidence.
And peole say i am toxic? But thanks for makign my point. Have a nice day.
Reading all your replies in this thread, one can say yes.
I loved my 800 XD
Remember loading up games with the cartridges as well as the tape drive.
Man I miss these games:
- Rapid River
- Pitfall 2
- Fort Apocalypse
- Arkanoid
- Bruce Lee
- Submarine Commander
Especially the last one, fond memories of sitting on my dad’s lap while he translated the onscreen text and manual so we could figure out together how the game worked XD
It is a fact to me. As i have claimed. To me. I feel that way. What i observed, is my experience.
Anecdotal experience? Is this a wiki page and i need to cite references?
This term does not even belong in this discussion as you are attemting to claim that a casual experience, in any form, is not a valid experience at all and is not deserving of a thought , or opinion.
You are attempting to nullify something i experienced in the game with a, franky, silly comment.
You are not even capable of undersanding the original threads title.
I think it’s mostly a somewhat weird side effect of convenience and lack of hiccups waiting wise. I’ve noticed even with your example of shopping, give people a long line where they are forced to wait and smalltalk will happen. It’ll be awkward at first, and you’ll get one grouch at least, but people will start talking.
In that sense oldschool mmorpg’s (and I count vanilla WoW among them) had more opportunity for ‘behaviour that naturally occurs when people need to wait and/or go slow’. I think, especially when you are interacting with strangers, that is a fortunate thing because plenty of people do want interaction and connection on some level. And then you’re reminded most people are decent and friendly. I think the lack of this reminder at regular times creates a vacuum where distrust and fear flourish. Something like that.
Healers are toxic, constantly threatening to leave keys that are easily on time.
You mustn’t have had much exposure to other games if you honestly think WoW’s the most toxic…
League of Legends is infamous, and World of Tanks’ makes theirs look like Care Bears.
This I fully agree with.
In the older versions of the game, you simply couldn’t afford to be abusive or toxic.
Because servers were isolated, and people like this got isolated pretty quickly from everyone.
But this also emphasizes the point that toxicity always has been there.
We just dealt with it differently back then.
Gee, I wonder why someone might think that, not to mention the attitude you have towards others stink, no wonder people are snarky in response.
You said it was a fact, it is not infact, a fact, it’s something that you have anecdotal evidence on and thus base your claims of it.
WoW players are not toxic at all, and this is a fact.
Oh but I am, just because I disagree with you doesn’t mean I do not understand the title.
Ok, wow players are the most toxic you’ve ever met. Have you considered not playing with pugs?
At least Riot tried implementing systems and started acting on reports.
No idea how effective it is though.
Thats quite literally not know that works, but you do you.
LoL’s system of using peers to pass judgement is long gone, think it’s like WoW now where it’s all automated after so many reports.
My most toxic experiences where when I started the game in TBC. Toxic players have always existed IMO. It’s a miracle I didn’t stop back then but I have a much better experience these days than back then.
